“Basic hotel near Nagoya JR Station”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel during the Suzuka F1 Grand Prix and we paid 2/3 more for a basic double room.

Location is good as it is within 5 min walk to Nagoya JR station with lots of eateries and shops close by.

Room size is adequate but the table is quite small, so those who need to work at the table might not have enough space. However the room and the whole floor had a very strong cigarette smoke odour. We had to open the room window to get rid of the odour.

The airconditioning was poor with no temperature control in the room. On our first 3 nights, it wasn't cold. We had a room facing the main road which was opposite a fire station. We could hear the siren.

Hotel is very strict with check in policy but there free luggage storage facility.

Front office staff have passable English but they are helpful and polite.

“Clean and great service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 April 2011

We stayed for 3 nights at this Chisun Inn in Nagoya. Because I've been in Japan before, I expected the room to be very tiny. Walking in the corridor you would think it would be extremely a small room but it was not. Surprisingly it was not as tiny as I expected. In fact, it was a good size (husband and I are tiny people though). We both like the place because of the location, the cleanliness and most of all, the staff were very helpful. The amenities were sufficient for us. If we come to Nagoya again, Chisun Inn Nagoya would certainly be a hotel we would consider staying in again. BTW it is also very close to the food central at the station. So convenient to get good food too!

“Right next to the station, functional, small, nothing more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 March 2011

The Chisun Inn is a good cheap option given its location if you're just passing through. It's a no frills place, the rooms are very small but to rest for 8 hours and move on it's fine for £50. If you're planning to explore Nagoya the station area is actually a bit ropey so it's not a good location for the more vibrant area of Sakae, which is a 20 minute walk away.

Looking at the floor plan in our room we appeared to have one of the bigger rooms, and it was still small, so the others, unless singles must be tiny!

“Never lets me down”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2010

Been to the Chisun Inn a few times now, and have never had cause to complain. One time I lost my key and had to pay for that, but that's hardly something I can complain anyone else for.
The location is very good, just 4 minutes walk from Nagoya station and within touching distance of major shops and restaurants (especially the fantastic Yama-chan!). It also helps that the hotel is a garish yellow colour as you can't possibly miss it even from a distance.
The rooms are typically Japanese; small, compact, comfortable and very clean. The service is good and the staff are friendly. The breakfast is fine but was too busy for me mostly, with it sometimes being difficult to get a seat. Mind you, if you go early enough it won't be a problem.
Anyway, I can definitely recommend this hotel. It's far from amazing but it does make for a very comfortable stay.

“Good location and price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

The room of the hotel are relative small, but clean and tidy.
The sound isolation is not good.
My room face to street and a bit noisy.
