I spent 5 days at this hotel, on a business trip - my first visit to Nagoya. The hotel is located a few miles south of the city, and is a little out-of-the way, geographically speaking. However, it is
beside a major train/subway station (Kanayama), so getting about the rest of the city is, I guess, possible from the hotel base. The taxi ride from Chubu airport was expensive - so consider using the public transportation if you feel up to it.
The hotel is within walking distance of the Nagoya Congress Centre, used a lot for major conferences & exhibitions. The hotel is a good business-type hotel. It was professionally run, good service (front desk & room service) very clean, good quality decor/furnishings, free internet access. The bedroom was a little small (by US/European standards), but it was well equipped & the bed was comfortable. I was on a high floor with a great view of the city sprawling to the north. The hotel food was of good quality, particularly anything seafood-related.
There wasn't a lot to do in the area around the hotel, Boston Museum of Fine Arts has a small sister musuem located in the hotel complex, and is worth a visit - but don't expect anything close to the Boston experience. There are shops/small shopping centres close by the hotel, but nothing major.
If you're on a business trip - and a convenient quality hotel is uppermost in your mind - then this hotel will satisy you & I recommend it. However, If you're on a tourist trip to Nagoya - I'd struggle to find reasons to recommend it, purely because of its geographical location & urban/industrial surroundings.
