“Very central but not so good for beaches”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2011

I liked this hotel, primarily because of the central location - you can walk to shops and restaurants in a few minutes which was great as we were only there for two nights. Not so good if you are there primarily for the diving etc as the public beaches in walking distance did not look very clean and were pretty packed, and the beaches with the best reefs are a taxi ride away - and taxis are not that cheap there. Room fine, nothing to write home about but clean. TV reception pretty bad and internet so expensive that we did not bother. Anyway, after a fruitless taxi ride to a beach (it was too windy to sit down, but apparently this is quite unusual), we got another taxi back and spent the rest of the day by the pool where it was sheltered. Pool area very nice, clean. Most staff very pleasant except a couple of the front desk guys were quite sniffy. Pleasantly surprised by the buffet, being an avid buffet hater, both breakfast and dinner very good, with fresh options in addition (e.g. freshly cooked eggs at breakfast and one dish each evening that was cooked to order). Wine expensive as it seems to be in other hotels in Jordan.

“smallest bathroom in the world”

we used this hotel as base for a two day trip to jordan - good that we only stayed for one night - welcome was pretty cold - room was OK but the bathroom was the smallest I've ever seen - all the alcohol prices look OK but then you get hit by a service charge and tax AND everyone expects a tip - dinner was not good - town was very busy - breakfast was very dissapointing and we were not too sad to leave

“Central with a good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2010

We arrived late and checked out first thing in the morning. I cannot say a lot, but the breakfast was the best we had in Jordan. Fresh egg cook in the buffet. We sat by the pool to eat and it was romantic and nice. The room was clean, well laid out and comfortable. A good size. The staff was friendly that helped us. This is a great location to walk from and there is a lot to see. There is no direct beach access but really go down to the beach and take a glass bottom boat or go to one of the clubs and book a tour. It is a way better way to see the ocean.

“Ticked all the boxes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2010

On a recent organised tour of Jordan we stayed at this hotel for three nights, where we were welcomed by staff with trays of soft drinks, and then allocated twin room 619 which is on the top floor. This had been the third hotel during our tour, and this was certainly a better choice by the tour company compared to the first two hotels. The location was good, being nearto the local shops, and to a shop that sold water and soft drinks. Bearing in mind that, in general, hotel prices are high, we bought our own supplies and took them discreetly into our hotel room with no problem. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and there was a ‘happy hour’ in the bar every night during our visit with up to 30% off bar prices.

The room was equipped with twin beds, table, chairs, desk, mini bar and flat screen TV. A room safe was provided in the wardrobe. The majority of rooms appear to be angled to face the Gulf of Aqaba, however being on the top floor, this was not the case, so our view of the Gulf was more of a side view, but was still very pleasant. The bathroom was small, but adequate, with over-bath shower, toiletries and hairdryer. The beds were comfortable and there were tea and coffee making facilities.

Breakfasts and dinner are night were buffet style and very good with a good choice. There was a lovely pool with sunbeds and tables and chairs. It looked particularly pretty at night when lit up. Although there appeared to be a snack bar at the pool, this was never open during our stay.

All in all, we had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. It ticked all the boxes for us as far as comfort and location were concerned, which made our stay here very enjoyable.
