“Nice staff, but really needs an upgrade”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

I stayed here for 1 night back in October while on route to Petra. the hotel is fairly dated in its decor. The check in staff were very nice and helpful. we had to go to another hotel to have our buffet dinner, food only ok. The room was very dated, broken shower and toilet. If its a bed for the night and nothing more then it is ok. Nice and central. Breakfast is pretty poor also.
you will be woken by the mosque prayer call at 5am, guaranteed!

“did NOT like it”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

too old room , I didn't feel good there , the breakfast was poor, and the pool is not a great scene.
the only thing I liked is the staff , they were helpful and nice .
the location is good too as it's in the down town.

“Avoid - the most rubbish service of a hotel E-V-E-R!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

Although the rooms are fairly decent, I'd suggest that this hotel is avoided (unless you're diving as it is near a number of dive operators, however it's a sizeable distance from the beach) this is perhaps the most shambolic hotel in terms of service I've ever stayed in, and my two mates who stayed in a separate room also agreed as it was just a catalogue of errors of ridiculous proportions such as:
- On being assigned a room, my mates arrived at their room to find the smell of sewage to be unbearable, so asked to move rooms. After being assigned a different room, the smell was even worse in this room so had to be re-assigned. Third time lucky
- The windows of the wall are waifer thin, so be prepared to be woken at around 5am with the call to prayer, and then again around 7am when the school next door starts its morning singing lessons!!
- We had to wait around for about 10 minutes at a time to get served in the hotel bar as staff weren't around, and then upon paying (and this happened on two occasions) the hotel bar didn't have any change so another wait of 10-15 minutes occurred which is a bit frustrating when you just want to hit the town
- On leaving leaving some laundry in at 8.30am for 'dry cleaning' it was 9pm before it was returned (even though the laundry slip stated it would be by 6pm), and even though I'd specifically stated 'dry cleaning' the clothes came back damp - clearly an attempt to put it through the cheaper laundry service (and charge my dry cleaning rates) however they couldn't be bothered to dry it off properly!! I have to admire their cheekiness on this one in a way, but I wasn't laughing when I didn't have any clean dry clothes to wear the next day!

There were a few more incidents than those I've stated above however I can't remember them off the top of my head.

The only + points of this hotel were that the breakfast was reasonable and as stated above the hotel is located near a number of dive operators but that's about it. Oh yeah, they also have a parrot by the reception if that's your thing - seemed to amuse a number of guests that's for sure

Room Tip: We were informed by a guide in Petra that (I think it was) rooms 702 and 704 are the best as they ha...

“Good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

This is a fairly nice hotel. However this has one big caveat; get a room at the front of the hotel, the back has a niteclub close by, and my goodness is it loud!! You'll figure out pretty quickly if you're on the wrong side. So if you're on the right side of the hotel, the rooms are pretty nice, the bathroom is a good size (NB. only has a shower in the bath), and the hotel is kept very clean. And there is an excellent breakfast with a lot of choice, the only down side being they don't serve fresh tea and coffee. Nice hotel for the price, very good location.

“no way”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 April 2011

Continuing our tip from Israel to Jordan with Aqaba we were expecting a nice confortable hotel with a bit of oriental flavor. It was with oriental flavor but in the wrong way - dirty and bad quality. A/c not working (basically only ventilating) and it was cold especially due to ceramic tile floor. Toilet not be described - you need courage to take a shower. Food was low quality and no taste - kind of fast food ingredients...
