“Excellent staff, well-equipped, will return.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

As long-time expatriate residents in Jordan, we've tried 5* holidays at Petra, Dead Sea, Aqaba. Movenpick edges out its competition for value and service, and Movenpick Aqaba confirms the trend. A 12-day stay booked via internet promotion (pay 3 stay 4 nights) prompted an upgrade to an exquisite sea-view suite with kitchenette (refrigerator, hot plate stove, instant coffee/tea kettle, plus Nespresso), with sitting room (large flat screen TV, many channels, ipod cradle, sofa, desk, side table w/ 4 chairs), king bedroom (another flat screen TV); and bathroom with separate shower and deep bath. Excellent breakfast buffet with eggs cooked to order, albeit crowed in doors but with outdoor terrace seating. Mini-bar complimentary juices, soft drinks, crisps, and bath amenities stocked daily. Excellent and attentive staff throughout. Private beach, well-equipped aerobic and weight room, multiple pools with kids segregated, table tennis. Complimentary WIFI in lobby. Nothing much to see in Aqaba itself, but hotel is fine. Will return, in spite of the 3.5 hour drive from Amman.

Room Tip: Request non-smoking, sea-view, high-floor, and hope for upgrade.

“Wow factor”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Being the second time in this hotel we were even more impressed than before. Our apartment on the 3rd floor was spotlessly clean and very comfy with a big reception room, kitchen, 1 double bedroom with an on suite, 1 bedroom with 2 small beds and a separate bathroom and 2 terraces with lovely views on Aqaba, the mountains, harbour and red sea. The staff at the reception desk, restaurants, beach, pools and room is a dream team, very professional with an eye for detail and always ready with a smile. The choice of food in the restaurant and beach bar is excellent with refined dishes of French, Italian, Indian, Asian and Middle East cuisine. We went with the free shuttle bus service provided by the hotel to the Mövenpick in Tala Bay to compare. That place is very big and beautifully designed. If you like huge swimming pools with lots of space than this Mövenpick is perhaps a better choice for you. The minor points of this hotel is that it's in a newly build area with strong winds and feels very international. This place could be anywhere in the world like Mexico, the Caribbean or Asia, whereas the Mövenpick Aqaba feels much more authentic and really like being in Jordan.

“Best stay in Jordan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Top notch service where the staff go out of their way to ensure your comfort. We were pleased to accept a room upgrade to a beautiful apartment. The pool area and beach were immaculate and a great place to relax by. The food was excellent as well. Everything lived up to their 5-star rating. A very minor point in comparison to the overall stay was that the bathroom in our apartment (118) smelled of the toilet. The ensuite was spotless and smelled very clean so it didn't affect our stay.

Dear Valued Guest,
Referring to your feedback, regarding your recent stay with us at the Moevenpick Resort & Residences Aqaba, I wish to thank you for your kind recommendation. I have passed your very complimentary remarks about our employees' services to my team accordingly. At the same time, I have asked our Executive Housekeeper and Chief Engineer to recheck the second bathroom in the apartment number 118 and take immediate actions, in order to avoid drainage smell. During the current low season, several of our apartments and suites are not booked for quite a period, which can sometimes cause the siphon of the bathroom to dry out and cause a smell. Please accept our apologies for any inconveniences caused.
Hoping to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to the Moevenpick Resort & Residences Aqaba in the not too distant future and assuring you of our best care and attention at all time, I remain,
Yours sincerely,
Peter Hoesli

“Great stay, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Very friendly staff, nicely appointed room and a good breakfast buffet.
Lovely swimming pool and and excellent direct access to private beach from hotel.
Highly recommended. Only negative was high price of drinks at the hotel bar.

Room Tip: Bring some duty free with you or prepare to be shocked at the price of spirits.

“My favourite hotel in Aqaba”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

1. Lovely hotel, big comfortable rooms, excellent bathrooms, pool, fitness center.
2. Never have I been in a hotel with a more friendly staff. Totally efficient and helpful.
3. Nice private beach area -- rare in this very crowded location squeezed between two other countries.
