I was recently visiting Niagara Falls solo, and I was glad that I found this place. I was skeptical at first, as I am with any lower priced hotel, but I would stay here again. The bottom line: it was clean and safe.
The checking in process was a little bit rocky, as the first room they wanted to give me had an issue with the key not working, so they just gave me the room next to it. The hallway carpets were a little bit dirty, but the hotel room itself was very clean and smelled clean as well (which is all that mattered to me). The room lock worked great. I specifically asked for a room on the second floor, so it was very quiet. I can't speak for the ground floor. My guess is that it might have been a little noisy (but I don't know). Another reason that I asked for a second floor room was because the rooms on the ground level all had these glass sliding doors opening to the parking lot. Especially with my staying alone, I would not have felt comfortable with that. So anyway, I was happy with my room.
There was ample space in the room and included a small tv. I stayed in a room with a queen sized bed, it was pretty comfortable for a hotel bed. The linens and bathroom were clean. The pictures online of the room were true to what I experienced.
Now, for the one problem I experienced. I had called ahead when I was making my plans to make sure they had wi-fi. I was told that wi-fi was availble for 3 bucks a day - okay, fine, cheap room, no problem. When I got there the machine/system that generated a code for wi-fi access was "broken" and I was unable to get access. I was pretty pissed, because I had planned on ironing out the final details of my trip the first night. The next day when I got back from sightseeing they said that the internet was up, so I bought a code, only to find that the internet was so unbearable slow that the whole point was moot. So I got my money back, and as far as I know, the issue was never resolved. I told the employees about it, as well as told the online quality survey that I was sent after checking out - so maybe in the future they will fix this problem.
Other than the internet issue and the small check in bump, I was happy with my room. Also I wanted to add that the employees were very polite and tried to be as helpful as they possibly could be. I understand that their hands might have been tied with things like the internet issue, and they continuous kept their calm. Every time I was in the lobby, I was overhearing customers telling the employees about complaints, so I was impressed that they not only kept their cool, but also managed to maintain courtesy.
