“Friendly, lovely and delightful”

We just returned home after a too-brief stay at Zigzag during our visit to Livingstone and Victoria Falls, and were completely charmed by this friendly, unpretentious B&B. We enjoyed several interesting chats with Lynne, the owner, and she and her staff were incredibly helpful in providing detailed advice about things to see and do and in booking our sunset cruise on the Zambezi (highly recommended—we went on the Lady Livingstone). The rooms are small and not fancy (concrete floors with zebra-patterned rugs), which was fine with us. Hot water worked fine; power to the A/C went off intermittently, but this was not a big deal. Food and service in the restaurant/bar were excellent. And the grounds are beautiful, with lovely lush gardens and a very attractive swimming pool (though we got wet enough in the spray of the falls that swimming in the pool seemed superfluous...!). Would love to return and stay longer.

The rooms are small and basic. But they are clean and good value. The location is very good; in the centre of Livingstone, with a big beautiful garden, quiet, swimmingpool, nice teracce. And the service is perfect and also free wifi. The staff is super friendly and very helpfulll. Thumbs up for these nice people.

“Amazing Victoria Falls and Fabulous ZigZag”

Went to Victoria Falls in September and stayed 7 nights @ Zigzag B&B . Lynne, the owner of the B@B was amazing . The staff @ Zigzag always very helpful and smiley :-) I give 4 stars for location because it is located closer to the city of Livingstone which isn't the most beautiful city I've seen in my travels. However, it's only a $ 6.00 taxi ride to the famous Victoria Falls which is spectacular. The food @ Zigzag was also very good ( except for the steak ha ha .. Sorry Lynne, I know I'm a " Dead Man Walking " now . You can also enjoy a little swim in a pool . Even though the swimming pool isn't huge, but it's big enough to refresh and relax before or in between attractions . If you are at Victoria Falls , you must do the White Water Rafting with Par Excellence . These guys are the best and they will make your day. Amazing, fabulous , spectacular day that will leave you speechless. When I read reviews of people that had nothing to do it makes me wonder ha ha . Gorge swinging , Bungy, Walking with lions , you must do the " Devil's Pool" The views are stunning . Do it through the Royal Livingstone with lunch which is Silver Served including drinks and the food was first class . The trip to Chobe for a day was also very good and the guides always helpful . Please people all of you ( excluding students on limited funds ) leave a tip for your guide. If you did a half a day and you enjoyed yourself leave $ 5.00 and for a full day like the rafting leave them a ten . Don't be cheap . That is how they make their living . It actually made me sick to my stomach seeing some people from hotels like Royal Livingstone where they are paying over $ 400.00 a day , going on a tour and at the end of the day walking away without leaving a gratuity . In your own country you go to restaurants where you get bad service and you still leave a tip . Be more appreciative.
Once again Yes , yes , yes to Zigzag and its staff ... thank u , thank u and thank u for being a part of making my holidays fabulous :-) Andrei in Dublin . Almost forgot .. You better do the " Flight of Angels " and take the full 30 minutes on a microlight . Best experience ever. Helicopter is quite boring ... trust me . It flies to high and it is not a wow experience . What can I say , I was one of those adrenaline junkies trying to do it all and loving it :-))

“wonderful safe friendly accomodation, great food.”

we felt comfortable with zig zags the moment we arrived. The service was personal and friendly. The staff arranged many fantastic day trips and a safari for us with no trouble even though we kept changing our plans. The teenagers loved the pool and the delicious food. It was a bonus that the rooms did not have T.V as it meant we all enjoyed each others company, dining, chatting to fellow travellers. Their was a huge TV in the restaurant though but we didn't need it. Bedrooms were charming and adequate in size. The lovely staff really made our stay special.

“Not for us....”

Booked into Zig Zag based on the good reviews here, but feel I need to counter. This place is for budget travellers and backpackers. You will not find luxury and comfort here.
We booked for 13 people attending a wedding in Livingstone, one of whom was elderly. We couldn't really let her stay here. Rooms are TINY. Decor is unattractive. There are no seats provided in the room or bedside lamps. So once you've tucked into your mosquito net you have to get out to turn the light off by the main switch. Also, no mosquito spray was provided in the rooms. No window screens and a huge gap around the door. The doors were rickety and looked like they could be easily broken into.
The food area and bar were great. The gardens are beautifully kept, which is why it is a shame that the rooms are so dissappointing. The wifi is very fast and also free, which is good.
After the long drive from Kariba, we wanted a comfortable place to rest and get ready for the wedding. This wasn't it. Book here if you are looking for budget/ backpacker style accommodation. Also, felt that it could be better for the price.
