Pros: Peaceful and quiet, lovely gardens, very friendly and helpful staff, good food.
Cons: Room felt slightly damp.
Our booking was made via email but you can also call or book over the web. Refreshments (cookies and fruit juice) are provided on arrival and the helpful staff give you a rundown of all things Hoi An as well as a map showing the way to the various different sites before showing you to your room.
The room we initially stayed in was a bungalow right by the pool. It was very clean, spacious and en-suite with twin beds but the bedding felt a bit damp. The bathroom was also very big and clean with a separate shower and bathtub. On the first night, we found bedbugs in our bed at 1am in the morning. We informed the staff who immediately apologised and moved us to a new room. This is by no means a criticism of the Homestay, they were very professional about the incident and had the room fumigated and furniture/bedding replaced the next morning. Our new room was slightly smaller than the first but equally clean and well presented.
The Homestay has a large garden which was very well kept and presented and was peaceful and relaxing to sit in whilst having a meal from the very good kitchen that did Vietnamese (Very nice Hoi An specialities) and Western food. The pool was small but immaculately clean and worth a dip if you don't feel like going into town. They have free bikes for patrons to use which are well worth taking advantage of as the main town is about 10 minutes ride away. However, it's so flat around Hoi An that you can spend a very rewarding day biking around the islands that surround it and observing local daily life.
This homestay is beautiful and will certainly help to recharge your batteries as it has such a relaxing setting. If you need to always stay within the hustle and bustle of things then you should book somewhere else. If you're tired and need to rest for a few days on your trip up or down the country then stay here and just relax. Above all though, enjoy Hoi An, it's completely different to anywhere else in Vietnam.
