We were unable to stay in the accommodation we had booked because of flooding in Hoi An at the time, so late at night we were directed to the An Phu by a backpack couple we met at the airport.
Initially the front desk staff were keen to show interest and explain what they had to offer. It was definitely a good deal at $US22/night incl breakfast. Once we had signed up for the room (after viewing it) we were no longer of interest to them. The room was reasonable and fortunately because it was a lower class place the beds were softer than we had experinced so far.
Breakfasts were ordinary, The room was right next door to a nightclub that had loud music till about 10pm.
Just prior to check out the same front desk lady from check in time refused to give us our passports until we had checked out and paid and then when I wanted to pay by credit card I was told I couldnt because the connection to their banks was down. Not the best but as I said reasonably priced.

This hotel is fine, at the really quiet end of Hoi An Old Town. We booked through our Hanoi hotel and paid over the odds at $40 US for a balcony room. The balcony was basically a ledge with a pot plant on it overlooking someone's laundry business so don't be sucked in by the promise of a better room.
We were just out of season and the hotel was practically empty. We could have just walked in and got the room for around $25.
The pool was very heavily chlorinated..watch your eyes.
Good breakfast; clean, fairly spacious room with old-fashioned, almost European, decor, efficient A/C, good location.
Internet facilities next to the very large foyer. It seemed fine to us and I'd certainly recommend it as it was convenient and quiet.
Expect to pay around $14 US for the taxi from/to Danang. Ignore the very pushy "official' taxi drivers at the airport who try to tell you you aren't allowed to take other independent taxis.
Don't bother with the private taxi early morning trip to MySon, as recommended by the Lonely Planet Guide. It's interesting but not amazing and our $7 bus tour got us there well before most of the private taxis for a fifth of the price!
If you're going to Thailand, get your silk clothes made there: the choice is better and the quality much better than in Hoi An.

We stayed in this Hotel for one night and my boyfriend was very ill and had a fever. I asked the hotel if there was an english speaking doctor and the receptionist told me there was one and said she could call him to come to the hotel and see my boyfriend. He came and gave my boyfriend some anti-biotics and some paracetamol. My boyfriends felt and bit better and we decided to leave for Hanoi. On the bus journey to Hanoi he started to get extremely ill and started vomiting and shaking violently. He was also sweating and was soaking all over. then he couldn't breath. The bus driver took us to a 3rd world hospital in the middle of nowhere and there we stayed one night with not very much help as no one spoke any english. they diagnosed my boyfriend with asthma and said he was ok. we eventually got to hanoi and then he started to get worse again and could not breath. The hotel we stayed an in Hanoi directed us to the Internation SOS clinic and there we found out the anti-biotics we were given by the doctor the An Phu recommended were sub-standard rip-off drugs and had caused him to react extremely badly to them and also the paracetamol was out of date too. My boyfriend is now fine, thanks to the International SOS clinic, expensive but well worthwhile in this country. So please do not use the doctor they recommend, try get yourself to Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi for a proper equippedd hospital.

The Hotel was actually very nice and clean, but if you are ill please be very cautious.

Don't get drawn in by the AC - the food is awful and the menu for tourists is 50% more expensive than the local menu. Price gouging extraordinaire.

The hotel itself was very nice, clean rooms with tv and air-con and facilities like a swimmingpool. Though, at the end of our stay we had a really bad experience. The room had two cups and by an accident one of them broke. When we were going to leave the staff was rude and forced us to pay 2usd for the cup AND then accused us of stealing an umbrella, that they said was stolen from the hotelroom. There was and had never been an umbrella in our room, and even though we tried to tell them, they kept accusing us. This was an awful and humiliating way to be treated as a guest at a 3 star hotel, and I would recommend everyone to stay out of there.
An Phu is also known for its open tour busservice, which is as terrible as the staff at their hotel (which is even stated in the lonely planet). Our ride with them from Hanoi-Hoi An was a nightmare, the driver drove like crazy on bumpy roads (for example, he crossed a bridge in 90km/h instead of following the trafficsign saying: warning 5km/h). The bus did not have a toilet and did it first stop 6 h after take off. I was sick and while I was throwing up at a stop outside the bus at a 5 minute break, they would not wait for me for even a minute to finish, and forced me to go back to the bus (still throwing up)
So do yourselves a good favor, avoid having anything to do with this company.
