Great property surrounded by vegetable gardens and nursery.
Very nice and chic boutique property. Close enough to old hoi an to walk comfortably. Close enough to An Bang beach to bike or hike.
Best of both worlds. Staff is very helpful and you will see many travelers moving in and out of here.
Best value property in three weeks of travel from north to south. Can't recommend a better place.

We were fortunate to have booked the nicer rooms (suite). The bathroom was big and newly done. The shower was nice. The pool was nice to be in after a long day of sightseeing and clothes fitting. The tailor they're affiliated with was a bit annoying as their workers constantly pestered us and wouldn't take the hint that we didn't want anything made. They even followed us to town one time, when we didn't take the shuttle, trying to get us to get clothes made at their shop! It was awkward. That's not good business relations! My advice is : Don't get anything made in Hoi An. You'll get hosed! Everything is overpriced and most were not good quality. All the shops use the same tailors so it's hit and miss. Anyway, the hotel was good. The food was good.

My 2 Daughters and I stayed in a Family Suite for 3 nights in January 2012. We found everthing was excellent, Our room was very big with 2 bathrooms right by the pool. The breakfast was fine, our room was spotless and there is a free shuttle into town which wouldnt be far to walk or taxi anyway. This was our best accommodation for our 18 day holiday. I would go back anytime. The name on the outside of the Hotel is not Southern Hotel and Villa but Phuong Nam for some reason - this did cause mild confusion when we arrived at 3.30am!!
Hoi An was our favourite destination - our excellent accommodation was a great contributing factor.

We booked ahead as it was Tet (New Year) during our stay in Hoi An and we didn't want to be left without a hotel. It was a bit out of our price range but it ended up being a lovely treat during our stay in Hoi An. The staff were really nice to us and helpful - they arranged bikes for $1 a day. The buffet-style breakfast was plentiful and really delicious - there are chefs on hand to cook your eggs to order and you can have as much fruit, bread, pastries, coffee, juice etc as you want. It's enough to set you up til dinner time. Our double room was $20 but it was really beautiful with traditional art on the walls, and lovely french shutters. The bathroom was stocked with shampoo and toothbrushes every day and the small pool was really clean and set in a pretty courtyard. It's a ten minute walk to town but if you don't mind the stroll it's not a problem - it didn't bother us. Otherwise they have a shuttle bus which takes you into town for free every hour.
