We stayed in a standard room for $20 USD a night. Our friends had the same room but theirs had a damp musty smell to it. The room was clean but overall pretty ordinary and standard nothing special. The shower only had boiling hot water so it was almost impossible to have a decent shower. Hotel had wifi and was in a decent location but Hoi An is so small that anywhere is probably a decent location. We also had breakfast included, pretty average- try to get in early. For $20 a night between 2 people not too much to complain about. If you want tailors, An Dong Silk is around the corner and is good.

Good location, mini market opposite and easy walking distance to the old town.
Reception staff were not overly friendly or welcoming but they answered all the questions we had - just weren't very approachable!

Wifi was a bit slow and patchy, I found it easiest to connect to the hotel across the street.
Note breakfast is taken in the sister hotel and it was REALLY busy when we went. No problem to share tables but it became a bit of a bun fight to get to the food!

Room we had was a superior, we were slightly surprised to walk in and find the bath in the middle of the room, but was fine anyway as shower and toilet private either side. We had a balcony, but tipped it down so we didn't use. Plus, it was super noisy out on the street. One of the inside rooms might be better if a light sleeper or bothered by typical traffic noice...it is vietnam afterall!

Room overall was a little tired and worn around the edges. We had a really dodgy looking lamp minus lampshade for example, they just need to go around and tidy up a bit. Hoi An hotels didn't seem to offer the same value for money as elsewhere, we were tempted to choose one of the homestays just out of town but plucked for location instead at this hotel - which did work for us as we spent most of our time wandering out and about in the old town.

This hotel is 1 of a group of 3 and probably is the second one that was built. It was a little tired but after I had been upgraded to a deluxe room, I found the hotel to be quite adequate for my 5 night stay. Room was huge with flatscreen tv and weirdly, a bath in the middle of the room!
Good for watching tv whilst blowing bubbles.... The water pressure was a little suspect as it would be either really hot and strong for a moment and then, without warning, reduce to a drip. Breakfast was pretty ordinary but that is to be expected for the cheap hotel room rate.

I found Thanh Binh II the worst hotel of my trip to Vietnam. Clearly for the price you're not expecting much but I found the place well below par compared to similarly priced hotels I'd stayed in. The room was drab and worn around the edges, the sheets didn't smell clean, the water for the shower was either freezing cold or scolding hot, the bath plug was broken as was the balcony light, the beer from the fridge tasted off. There were none of the small details I'd experienced in other hotels that demonstrate the management are thinking of the travelers needs; no tea/coffee/ complimentary water, no hairdryer, no hello from the staff as you walk around. On the plus side the rooms are huge, good location and good WiFi.
