My sister and I stayed here for a couple of days on our way home from the east. There is a VAST difference in price from those hotels right in Dubai's touristy locations and then in Sharjah. When we arrived at the airport, no taxi drivers knew where Al Sharq was and I was a bit worried about that, but my fears were relieved once we arrived.
The rooms are alright, beds were small but excellent and we had a bedroom and a living room.. lots of room. The staff were extremely polite and helpful and offered us great advice when we needed it. One thing, however, was that our fridge wasn't working.. it was so warm!! I called the front desk and someone, from my recollection, came to look at it but they said it was on and it should be fine. Ding against them. There was also a bandaid on a jagged glass corner of a livingroom table for 'safety', hehe. On the other hand, I loved the plush couches & curtains, and the height at which our room was... we had excellent views!
I loved the area, it was nice to go to more local shops for food and things.. a different pace than in Dubai. It's easy to get around by taxi and bus to Dubai anyhow, so one would not have to twist my arm to get me to stay at this place again.
