I stayed many times at this hotel for business and found it reasonably pleasant. It is a beach hotel about 20km from Dubai area and the traffic can be terrible so please do not stay here with the intent of shopping or doing business in Dubai. One big reminder: Sharjah is DRY: No Liquor! so don't expect any bar or drinking places in hotel for romantic evenings. Hotel is a 2 storey block with rooms either facing the road or the pool/sea area and the seaview rooms obviously cost more. There are two restaurants and both facing the sea, one is for day time buffet for clients in beach wear. The other one is quite nicely furnished with seaview so it can be quite romantic for the couple who loves beach holidays because tables have good view of hotel private beach. Food quality is good by Sharjah standard but average by Dubai standard. If you get tired of eating in hotel, then just walk 500yards towards the aquarium roundabout where a Lebanese restaurant by the name of Sanobar specialises in seafood fresh and grilled simply on their outdoor BBQ.
Rooms are slightly small but should be OK for short holiday for a couple, cramp for family with baby or young children to share room. Bathrooms are dated but clean and free of craked tiles and usual basic toiletries are supplied. Rooms have fridge with soft drinks and basic snacks but NOT minibar because Sharjah is DRY! No tea/coffee facilities in room but TV should have sufficient channels to keep you busy. The property has just been renovated a couple years back so much brighter than when I first stayed there in 2007. The common area feels spacious and well proportioned so this place is quite good value for money compared to similar hotels in town. The hotel also provides free shuttle bus services for shopping in Sharjah town centre as well as Deira in Dubai area. This hotel is mainly used by eastern European families who seek winter sun so it is usually quite deserted in the summer months when the beach temperatures hit 40 degrees and above. I will stay here again because it is convenient and pleasant for business, although their sister hotel across the road called Premier Inn actually has free WIFI. The biggest downside of Lou Lou'a Beach Hotel is the fact that using internet cost some USD10+ per day!
