“Value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2011

Its important to realize that this hotel is remotely located, and can be very lonesome and boring. The hotel provides a free shuttle to the Al Hamra Beach Resort and to the RAK mall, but if you need to see more of Dubai, you need a car. I stayed at this hotel for a week, and mainly used it as a base to explore the UAE. Had I stayed in downtown Dubai, I wouldn't have seen as much of the UAE as I did. Whereas I wouldn't give it a 5-star rating, I think this hotel offers value for money. The rooms are large, well-furnished and cleaned daily. I found the house keeping staff to be very thoughtful, going out of their way to supply items I didn't request, but which they thought I could use. This hotel was a tranquil resting place after a long day of site-seeing. And when I needed to rejuvenate, the indoor pool, sauna, and hot springs were a treat.

“Good place”

Khatt Springs is in the middle of nowhere... Transportation might be a pain. But having said that, it is an ideal place for a short vacation from daily schedules for people in the UAE. The hotel is not so high priced and offers neat rooms with Internet connectivity. The minus point is that there is no wireless Internet in the rooms. The lighting in the rooms are energy efficient bulbs portraying the hotel's stance on saving resources.

Mine was a very short stay and therefore couldn't explore much. The hotel is popular among foreign expatriates who wish to take a break from routines. The restaurant offers a good choice of cuisine - Arabic, Mediterranean, Continental and Asian. The hotel also offers small conference halls for corporate meetings and business gatherings.

All in all, this place is good and in my opinion, worth every penny you spend.

The service offered by the staff was good and they make sure you feel at home.

“Not bad”

A good deal -we were given a fair price but it is definitely not 5 star standard. Parking consists of a few spaces out front and the valet is touch and go,the rooms are nice enough but all affected by the very noisy atrium. No real amenities as such, the pool was dirty-if they set up a decent cocktail bar it would be a good spot. Choice of food poor. General feeling of disorganisation, we booked in for 2 days for the RAK half-marathon and they didnt even know it was on!?! On the plus side, the staff were very nice and accomodating, the spa packages on offer were extensive and the springs were a nice option. We got a late check out until 4/5 on the Saturday which was very nice of them. If they improved the facilities it has great potential!

“Bad service, far away from beach and town”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2011

We stayed from Christmas til new years day. The location is far away for some without a car. We booked a spa treatment, but they charged us twice and now they can't understand to pay money back. English is not their strongest language and the reception can't understand if you make a complaint.
The hotel is cheap to stay in, but the food is horrible. Only 1 restaurant working, and very few guests staying. The beach is far away, about 40 minutes, and only few transportation options.
Would not reccomnd to stay for more then a few days and only if you have a car and know your way around.

“Great for a break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2010

I am glad I did not check previous reviews before booking - otherwise I might have gone elsewhere and missed a very pleasant two-day break over Christmas.
Khatt Spring is not 5-star (it doesn't charge anywhere near 5 star prices!), but it is comfortable with friendly, welcoming staff. It is very much a family hotel so probably not for anyone who wants to get away from children.
The room, with views over the mountain and village, was comfortable and well equipped.
The spa, with a hot pool, sauna, steam room and ice grotto, is free to hotel guests, as is the hot springs complex down the long staircase at the bottom of the hill. There's a wide range of massage treatments available, at less cost than most of the Dubai hotels.
For those who want the beach there is a shuttle bus and free access to the Al Hamra Fort Hotel (same management).
Food was in the "ok" category and you are not likely to find cheaper drinks in any other UAE hotel.
Like, I said, I'm glad I wasn't put off by earlier reviews.
