“So near and yet so far”

The Rotana is a lovely hotel with good restaurants and a pleasant outdoor pool / bar area. There were however a few annoying aspects.

Housekeeping was tardy. The room was sometimes cleaned as late as 4pm. Bins weren't always emptied and we only had a turn-down service day one night out of five. When we arrived one of the bathroom lights was not working and the toilet flushing mechanism wasn't working properly. We rang for assistance. The light was quickly fixed, but the toilet issue was ignored. These were minor irritations and are only mentioned because when I pay Rotana prices, I expect quality. The quality was there in many areas, but not all.

The biggest irritation though was the wifi. Wifi is not a luxury these days, it's a necessity. However, there was no free wifi availabe in our section of the hotel (the older section), not even in the lobby. The cost for accessing it anywhere was exhorbitant. Rotana needs to revise it's policy on wifi.

“A great hotel”

What a wonderful hotel. We had an excellent room overlooking the pool.The food was outstanding and such a variety.Full marks to all the staff.

“Great Hotel very clean”

This hotel is nice, following the Rotana standards. Guest services very attentive and polite. Check in was efficient even though the room was not ready. They promise they would call me when it was ready, but I am still waiting for the phone call (24 hours later). Room Executive suite) AED 1,300 was very spacious nicely appointed. Did not received any turn down, which not the standard. Food at the pool was very tasty. The other F&B outlets will be reviewed separately but it gives a bad rep to the hotel.

I was very disappointed to know that we were not able to satisfy all your needs during your previous visit to our Hotel.

I would like to really apologize for all the shortcomings you have experienced during your stay. “Noisy nights”

A really beautiful hotel in an exellent position in the town. They are doing major works to the hotel but this is not a problem. The layout is partly apartments that are set around a garden area with a pool etc. in the Middle. Everything and everybody was exellent. We had some problems with loud music being played near our rooms on the three nights that we stayed. I think that people also need to be reminded that the UAE is not nonsmoking, this can be a problem in public areas if you are not expecting it.

Room Tip: Remember to ask for non-smoking and always ask for a complimentary upgrade or breakfast included our...

“Excellent by all measures”

Al Ain Rotana Hotel is an excellent choice for staying in Al Ain. It is well located, close to the city center and to the Al Jahli park, the most beautiful there. The quality of service is outstanding. I got a very spacious room with a balcony in the old wing, but very well maintained, clean, and comfortable.

The buffet breakfast has a large variety of top quality items, hot and cold. The lunch and dinner buffets, served in the same restaurant (at extra cost), have the same high standard.

You can't go wrong with Rotana Al Ain.
