We returned to Uganda after 4 years and this time satyed at this large hotel / resort. By coincidence, I re-watched The Last King of Scotland last night and saw this hotel in the movie. It's large, situated in a good location on Lake Victoria, and a short distance to Entebbe Int'l Airport.
The staff was always great. The food was above average. The rooms were large but dated. The AC didn't seem to work well and probably was centrally controlled. The windows opened to let fresh air in and we had a view the gardens and beach.
There is an outdoor bar and small grill in the gardens next to the beach. Nice for a cold beer and sunset after a long day of touring. There are a few small shops adjacent to the hotel selling the usual tourist stuff and for booking safaris. We noticed several airline crews and World Wildlife Fund staffers using this hotel.
The interior of the hotel is somewhat dated, the carpets and drapes smell old, but it is very clean. However, by comparison, the Speke Resort in Kampala is a better facility.
