Once again myself and friends had a fantastic holiday.
Brilliant staff and service and take no notice of reviews
saying its noisy early hours...... by law the music is turned down
by all apartments and hotels at 11pm. .So apart from some people
still chatting etc, its fairly quiet. But dont forget folks, we are on
Holiday.
Made many friends and will be seeing them in 2012.
Long live the amaris dirty dozen :)
see you all next year.

“Absolutely brilliant!!”

Just got back from a weeks stay at Club Amaris and wish I was still there!! We went as a group of 4. The bedroom had 2 single beds and a double sofa bed in the living room area. There was plenty of room and everything was very clean.

I would recommend this place to anybody. We had a fabulous time here, mainly thanks to the bar staff who were amazing thanks guys!!! The room was cleaned everyday with new towels provided. We ate a few times at the hotel and the food was really good and very reasonable, slightly more expensive by a few lira than at restaurants but that's to be expected. Drinks at the hotel were average price with a bottle of Efes costing 5 lira. They had happy hour between 7 and half 9 were cocktails were BOGOF. Would recommend a few of these, but not too many as I found out they definitely put LOTS of booze in them!! ;). There were plenty of sun beds although beware the pool is freezing!! We did go out of season though.

The hotel was well situated with a shop close by for basics. It's only about a 10-15 min walk to main shopping street with lots of restaurants on the way. It's slightly further to walk to the marina area about 20-25 mins but the walk along the seafront is very nice. There is a taxi rank right next to the hotel, which is handy. A taxi to old town/marina area should cost about 12 lira although coming back it will cost you 15 lira. Don't try haggling this even though it doesn't make sense as they won't drop the price!! You can get a dolmus (bus) which will cost 2 lira (ish) but we went as a 4 so was about the same price to get a taxi.

There are lots of restaurant along the marina all offering similar deals. Would really recommend a meal at La Vita Bella in the marina area. The food here is absolutely fantastic and the staff are brilliant. We were a bit cold one evening so one of the staff went next door and brought us back blankets!

Would really recommend going to Icmelar at least once. This is the next resort along, a taxi will cost about 25 lira or the dolmus goes here very regularly. It's a much quieter resort but we spend a very nice day here. We got taxi's both ways, had breakfast, sun beds with waiter service, a 3 course meal all for about £26 each!!

In regards to travel money get your money changed in Turkey as the rate is better. We changed a small amount at home to last the first 2 days than changed up our pounds when we got there. There are lots of change offices be careful as some take commission. ROE was 2.82 most days. If you get your money in England you'll get about 2.6. Doesn't sound a lot but its a night out paid for.

Overall this was a brilliant holiday. We paid only £190 each. You always think you get what you pay for but Club Amaris far exceeded my expectations. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK AGAIN!!!

“Great Place, Great Fun,”

I've just got back from a week's stay at the Club Amaris Apts. The facilities were perfect for what we needed. We stayed on an B&B basis. The food in the resterant was of good quality and very generous portion sizes. The menu choice was brilliant (shame I'm on a diet). I had salads most days and they were tasty.
The apartments were clean and spotless. The were cleaned every day and fresh towels were replaced every day. The only strange thing was that i think you had to pay for your own toilet roll. They didnt seem to replace that daily. Sometimes they did sometimes they didn't. They also did our washing up for us. Each day the clean towels were put on the bed and made into shapes like hearts or swans or fans. A nice touch.
The staff were very friendly. They all smiled and said hello whenever we saw them. The owner was also there quite alot and he was very pleasant too and talked to me. The bar staff were very very funny and full of spirit. The boys at the bar made our holiday. they were really friendly and made us feel really welcome. A big thanks to Apo, Adnan, Memmet, & Kazim.
The swimming pool was very clean. you do need your own beach towel though as they dont provide pool towels. However, we were lucky and we asked if they had spare ones and they found us some. The sun loungers were comfortable.
The rooms themselves were large and comfortable. There were 3 of us (all girls) and ther was plenty room. we had one bedroom sleeping 2 and a double bed in the lounge. There was plenty of space to keep our stuff and plenty of wardrobe space for 3 women!!!
The bar guys gave us plenty of ideas where to go clubbing and eating and reccommended things for us to do.
The Club Amaris is a brilliant place to stay, its close to everything and only a short walk into the main shopping area and marina and old town, If your not keen on walking there is a taxi rank right next to the hotel or you can walk down the end of the road and catch a bus into the main shopping area. its only a couple of lira.
There are two Amaris Apartments so be careful when booking. I don't know what the Amaris Apartments are like but they are owned by the same people. I would want to go back to this one only because it looked better in the brochure and now I know it I'd be happy to stay here again.. So make sure you book the CLUB Amaris apartments.
We had a fab time here and I'd go back tomorrow if I could. Definately going back next year.Loved it. Entertainment wise - there was bingo a few times but nothing else but then we did go out of season and people did go out alot. the music by the pool bar was on all the time, sometimes they cranked it up a bit sometimes it was quiet. it all depends on personal taste but if im by the pool i like to have the music on! I'd say this hotel would suit anyone but not older travellers as they may find it too noisy.

“good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

Just got back from my first trip to Turkey and Club Amaris.
The hotel itself was clean, comfortable and the staff were friendly. The apartment had a kitchenette with fridge, freezer, sink and cupboards and a balcony overlooking the pool area.
It was cleaned every day, not sure how many times the bedding was changed but it wasn't every day. We left the cleaner a tip every morning and she made us some towel art!

The staff, as i said, were friendly, a bit too friendly sometimes as they don't seem to know when you want to be left alone and enjoy your holiday without them hanging over your shoulder!

One point I have to mention was on the last day, my friend and I had booked an extra night as we were flying at midnight and didn't want to have to check out early and wait around all day.
The manager, who we had built up a relationship with throughout the week had the cheek to ask us if we could check out early as he had booked someone into the room that night!
We didn't, and told him we were not happy that he had asked at all!
Just something to be aware of. Other than that, everything was perfectly fine.
Not sure I would return to Marmaris though. A bit too tacky for my liking and good food in this resort is few and far between. Try the harbour area for a decent but cheap meal.

“review from young couple”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

second time in marmaris so thought we would give this a swatch, after reading great reviews about this hotel we decided to come here. We are a young couple (23 and 21) so might be able to offer a different perspective to some others.

upon arrival, greeted by very friendly bar staff who were eager to carry our luggage(obviously with a tip included at the end!) we were given our room which had two single beds, we did specifically ask for a double bed which was rather annoying, but I am a believer in saying what you need to say and ask nicely if there is a problem, unlike some moany review writers on here who dont have the gumption to confront problems. We got our room changed to a double no problem.

The bar staff are all very friendly, they were older and hence more mature, not unlike the place we went last year where it was little kids spewing out the same usher tune over and over again, and putting clubland on repeat, squirting water and shouting lewd things at your girlfriend, they were all very accomdating and couldnt do more for you, one kind gentleman even phoned up the tourist company for us as the bus had went to the hotel amaris instead of the apartments and forgot about it(he got a tip). In general, if you are a young single girl, the barmen will behave a bit more....forward to you, wheras if you are a couple and make it be known that you wont tolerate rude comments about you and your girlfriend going for "sexy time" then they will leave you alone (this happened alot at the previous hotel)

The location was perfect, not too far from the beach front, and a local shop one minute away for papers, suncream, water etc. my advice would be to turn right once you leave, then right again and head straight down, my reason being is that this road has no restaurants and bars on it and it takes you right down to the beachfront, why you say? simple, you wont get harassed to eat at people's restaurants and come view their fake jewellery.

The room was excellent, big bed, sheets changed everyday, cleaned everyday, functioning shower, nice balcony, my only negative was the there was some sort of tomato stain on the balcony curtain that never got cleaned, but that is only minor. There is a lift that takes you to your room, but beware, it is tempramental, one drunken night, I left stuff in my room, headed back up, and was greeted to a brick wall! was like a scene out of the blue wkd adverts. all you have to do though is press another floor number and it eventually evens itself out.

A negative for the hotel was a lack of amenities, there were no pool tables, no table tennis but this is just me being picky, i'm a sucker for table tennis and get very grumpy if somewhere doesnt have it, there were however plenty of lilo's and sunbeds, a big bonus considering the pool can get quite crowded in summertime, but if you ask the barmen, they will always get you a spare sunbed.

Positives of this hotel:-
- excellent service
- plenty of pool space
- nice cold swimming pool
- a resident turtle (total legend...I named him Keith)
- excellent location

Negatives of this hotel:- (very few and minor negatives)
- lack of amenities
- dodgy lift
- the fact that over half the pool area is in shade until about 13.00
- can get quite crowded
- the street is small meaning buses etc dont stop outside your hotel

Room Tip: the top floor balcony's are smaller, go for the lower floors, much more space. Top floor will g...
