we went to turkey in august/september to get married company we were with went bust so we ended up in a rubbish hotel in iclmer not the goldstone were we had booked .having stayed at the goldstone on previous holidays we had wanted to be thier with our friends but we went to the goldstone hotel quite often during the fortnight in turkey. smiley gave my wife away at our wedding in iclmer and after our reception we booked taxis and went to the goldstone ,they gave us such a wonderful welcome with a cake and fresh fruit and a bottle of champane ,the guests who were with me could not belive the way the staff treated them. this hotel is top class with me thanks brian/paul /george smiley and the rest of the staff you helped make our wedding so much

shocking would never go back to this hotel all they think of is money and how much they can get off you staff were good but management were shocking if you went somewere different to eat that was you ignored the rest of the holiday and they would tell the staff not to entertain you paul brian george shocking no hot water for a week and lift was out week half husband just had operation on his nee and ask to be moved to first floor as i was on the 3 floor and was ignored what just because you would no eat every night in the hotel well sorry thats what you go bed and breakfast for two half weeks into our holiday they ran out of breakfast and would not get anymore in as its the end of the season but you pay for it

absolutley discusting we have stay there many times but because this year has been bad we and all the friends whom all met up the same time were given hell all these bad reviews are true i 10 couples hom met there some years ago decided to all go there at the same time this year because they have ad a bad year they expected us to stay there 24 7 which we have never done i have heard and listened to complaints in the past from other families whom have stayed there but have not said anything rip off merchants is the word to use if u dont spend there they dont want to know 6 years twice a year wehave been stayin there never ever again we work in england we dont get tips so we shouldnt be expected to give them our work is manual not like the 3 so called managers that sit on there butts a liitle bird tells me the hotel is gettin demolished and rebuilt lets hope it gets rid of the three amigos or jokers oh and by the way goldstone u may write on your wall out with the old in with the new i didnt see many customers in there at all so be careful what u wish for !!!!!

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel twice yearly for the past 3 yrs and had some fantasic holiday's and met some wonderful friends there.
This year was different!!! 24 of us decided to book at the same time, sept 2011 it was going to be great, it wasnt. The hotel it's self was falling apart, water coming through the ceilings, the showers had mould, Lumpy uncomfortable beds, cold water and for the frist yr we had cockroaches.
The lift was out of service more times than it was in service, so not good for those that were on the 4th or 5th floor.
Because we have stayed there many times of course we know the staff well, or we thought we did. We all went on a boat trip and when we returned the staff had decided not to talk to us, they ignored us!! My husband ask Paul are you ok is anything wrong? he said no, but business not good. In other words we were not spending as much money as they wanted. My friends who never pay for aircon were asked to pay this time and they even had the cheek to ask for the aircon money from when they were there in May.(my friends told them to stick it of course) For the rest of our holiday George, Paul and Brian would not speak to us. so my husband decided not to spend any money there if thats how they wanted be. We were not going to allow them to bully us as we had heard they had done before with others, we would just sit in the bar with friends but not buy a drink, this made them more angry Lol. We have read bad reviews before about the staff at Gold Stone but did not beleive it, well we do now!!!!!
Awful rude people, we were fooled previously we truely thought they were nice people, they are greedy ugly people who just want your money and want to rip you off. They will add things on your bill that you have not had, over charge you for air con, safe, fridge etc. The kitchen is very dirty and the food over priced and over rated by staff.
Staff have also told us, Paul, George and Brian were ripping them off too, customer would give the staff tips and they would not get them.
We have also been told they have been lying telling other people we were horrible and they told us we were not welcome back, this is not true, they had plenty of time to say such a thing should they wanted too, but knowing what we know now they wouldnt have the balls.
My advice would be, stay at another hotel, there are some lovely hotels in Marmaris and some nice genuine people. Dont waste your money on this hotel you will be disapointed.
