“AMAZING PLACE!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

Well what can I say about this place??? How would you feel if I said that villa sun was the best place to stay in marmaris :) I mean like its not 5 star but that's not what holidays are about is it? This small apartments in marmaris are run by BAZ the funniest Turk you'll ever meet, he would do anything to make your stay at villa sun the best experience ever, if you asked him to put on entertainment he'd organise something for that night. We stayed here as a large group in July-August 2011 and it was spectacular, BAZ and his staff made us feel so welcome from the minute the bus pulled up outside villa sun, his staff took our bags inside and waited on us until BAZ checked us in then took our bags upstairs, the rooms were tip top condition with everything clean all the time. His cleaners were the best at there job replacing everything when needed. The food......WOAH where to start haha his chef should have been workin as a Michelin star chef he was that good he could literally any food you wanted. The pool area was always spotless and the pool clean all the time. Regularly you would see BAZ out trimming his plants and making the place respectable. BAZ and the staff always interacted with guests to make them feel at ease and enjoy there holiday, while staying at villa sun I was celebrating my 17th birthday so to say happy birthday BAZ put on a fireworks display and played all the tunes I wanted and it was an absolute blast, I couldn't have faulted anything about this place and it certainly was the best holiday I'd ever been on so I'd like to send out a big THANK YOU to BAZ and his wonderful staff and I'll see you all again this year :) OH and before I forget I love baz's monkey dancing and anyone who says badly about baz's place is wron......

“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

I stayed at Villa Sun Apartments for three weeks in October 2011. I can only say that this is a great place to stay. From the moment I arrived everyone was most welcoming, friendly and helpful. I asked if I could have an apartment with a nice sunny balcony and this is exactly what I got. The apartment was immaculately clean and was kept that way for the whole three weeks by a friendly fantastic cleaning lady. She also changed the towels and bedding regularly. I ate in the restaurant by the pool most days and the food was excellent prepared by the ever smiling Alex. Then there was ever helpful Murat behind the bar - a lovely character. Baz the owner was always on hand to look after any eventuality, he is a wonderfully down to earth, honest guy. One night I left my wallet on one of the dining tables with a lot of money in it and all my credit cards, Baz brought it up to my room at 1.00am. I also left my iphone in the foyer when I was returning back to the UK. Unbelievably Baz arranged to get to back to me in Stockport 2 days later. What more can I say "Great Place to Stay" and great guys. Brian Jackson

I arrived at these apartments ay 7am thursday morning (i had booked my room from wednesday as i knew i was arriving early morning) only to find my room had a "technical problem" and wasnt ready. I had to sit in reception for over 2 hours before i was let into my room - no electrician had passed me - rather there was a maid standing outside my room when i got to it (Clearly just wasnt clean in time for me arriving - bit of a joke after booking from the previous day)
Room was spatious and only problem was the handle on the balcony door - it fell off, this was fixed after 3 days. i did not have air conditioning as it was very expensive.
The settees in reception are in serious need of reupholstory, they are full of holes where the padding is coming through.
Wifi available in reception with a code but signal could be very very weak at times.
The pool was a good size and plenty of sun beds available. however to get to the chute you had to walk over mud etc.
If you order drinks at the bar they prefer to take your room number and bill you rather than paying at the time. i flatly refused. it has came to my attention on previous holidays that some people tend to add extras to your bill as your night/holiday goes on in hope you dont notice - Im not saying this happens at Villa Sun, i just prefer not to take the chance.
They seemed quite confused when i said i wanted to pay there and then, it was only one coke i didnt see the problem.
I never ate at the resturaunt as i was very put off by Baz (the owners) attitude.
I was staying at the hotel by myself as my boyfriend worked near by. i had been at the pool for 5 hours on my first day then went to my boyfriends hotel for 2 hours. I bought food from the shop on my way home at tea time to make myself tea and was asked by Baz if i would be attending the Turkish night that evening. I replied 'no thanks' and was met with a mouth ful of abuse: "you girls are all the same. you come here and all the time go to your boyfriends hotel. never spend any money here. eat there. drink there. next year i will charge you £40 a night" safe to say i wont be staying there next year.
I thought the abuse was ridiculous and unneccesary, i had spent longer at villa sun that day than at my boyfriends hotel so his accusations were completely unfounded :S i also wasnt going to sit in a resturaunt with no one i knew at a turkish night, when i had already planned to (and bought) food for my tea and to go up to my boyfriends hotel at night.
I did not spend any more time than necessary in the apartments after that conversation on the first day. i only came home to get ready and then at night to sleep.
Baz did not say another word to me the entire holiday.
I was quite shaken up by his behaviour as i was there on my own.

Ive forgotten his name but the man on reception was wonderful, he was really nice to me and looked out for me,

If you plan on eating and drinking in the resturaunt at the apartments at all times then Baz will be nice to you but as soon as he sees you leaving he will not act as friendly as he first does.

I wont be returning to this hotel again unless it is under different management.

I have stayed in the " Villa Sun " previously and thats why I went back and will be going back again in July 2012. I travelled with my 16yr old son and his friend and we all had a fantastic time. The owner Baz and all the staff can not do enough for you, the service is first class. Other reviews have stated that the rooms are poor however I have found them to be very clean with maid service every day. The apartments have a microwave, fridge, kettle, 2 ring electric stove and all utensils, crockery etc. There is also a T.V. and the apartments have two spacious balconies. The large bed is extremely comfortable and there is a phone in the bedroom. The shower room is a fair size and has a hairdryer integrated. The food is excellent it may cost a little more, though only a few Lira, not enough to impact on your budget and, you have the advantage of waking up and going straight downstairs to have your morning coffee and breakfast. Entertainment will be whatever you want Baz is happy to arrange whatever you wish, be it Karaoke,Turkish Night or Pool Party, just ask. Families, couples old and young would all enjoy Villa Sun hospitality. There is a small childrens pool and swings, pool table and internet access. There is also lots of entertainment, shops etc nearby, can't beat it.

Read 21mandy121 and this is very accurate. We paid £55 each for 12 nights. Yes rooms are basic and many people would say it needs this and that, but we only shower, sleep and s"&$ there. Those who want to spend time in their room in 100+ degrees spend the dough. Cleaner fantastic, bar staff wait on you hand and foot, we would shout out round the pool, coffee, beer etc - no bother. chef underrated and always smiling and nothing to much bother. Food was on a par price wise with surrounding area. Only difference was most places did a deal with soup and meze. Yes you do get bogofs in the area but the only benefit is with bottles of efes where u get bogof at 8/9 lira and baz charges 5. But when u go outside for a short the first one is loaded the other one is crap. For example JD & coke, outside you get a single only in each glass 12 lira, baz will do you a double/treble for same price. Try the slide on a lilo its the dogs dangles u end up in the street!! Aircon is worth it. Baz and staff will do anything for inc booking trips, no one is pushy if you want to go out you wont get hassled.
Baz we had a great there and we miss your "essex" everyday. Hope morgan is well and everything goes ok with little baz or bazmina. p.s. can u do us a deal for next may???
