First visit to turkey, thomas cook let us down by promising a seaview room but upon arrival were told there were none, two days later hotel staff offered a seaview room for an additional cost, thanks to the staff we had a lovely holiday!

“Lovely,clean hotel”

This was our first visit to Turkey. Chose the Marbella because of reviews on Tripadvisor. Was not disappointed. Cleaners at hotel all day ,everything spotless. Room was quite small, but lovely big shower in bathroom. Quiet location and not too far to walk into the centre of Marmaris. Food was very good in the numerous restaurants along the water front. Lovely Indian-Chinese in the centre. On the downside the transfer to and from the airport was a bit hairy at times, the main road was under re-construction,but when we go back hopefully it will be finished.

“Modern, Spotlessly Clean & Perfect Location.”

Stayed in the Marbella in mid September but only just got around to writing a review. Firstly i must say that me and my husband have been to Turkey many times to different resorts and one of the few places we hadn't yet been to was Marmaris, and being known as the Blackpool of Turkey i was a little worried. The hotel is situated in a good spot on the promenade away from any noise from bars. It takes about half an hour to walk along the promenade into Marmaris Marina area and about an hour in the other direction to Icmeler, which i must say was a lovely scenic walk with bars dotted along the seafront with stunning views.
The hotel itself is really lovely and very chic having been recently refurbished. We had a sea view room which was spotless with nice balcony furniture (not plastic). The bathroom had a shower big enough for 2 with a large ceiling shower head...absolutely lovely! The wardrobe didn't have a full length area to hang dresses but this didn't bother me too much. The pool is small but does the job and nobody put their towels on the sunbeds at the crack of dawn!! and as long as you were at the pool before about 11am there was always sunbeds free. The hotel is very adult, i only saw 1 toddler (maybe it was the time of year) or perhaps because there are no kids facilities, and the pool doesnt have a shallow end. Perfect for me as i like peace and quiet on holiday and also being able to drink out of a glass around the pool was lovely. The beaches in Marmaris are very narrow with gravel for sand so if you like to go in the sea invest in a pair of sea shoes.
We were half board and the food was excellent, especially breakfast. They even had sea bass freshly cooked on request at no extra charge and bought to the table.
The Marbella is by far the most attractive hotel in Marmaris so if you want a pretty much adult only hotel you can't go wrong;)

Room Tip: Sea view is a must.

Transfer from Dalaman takes approximately 1hour 40mins, Our transfer coach from the airport stopped at a small coach park where you have to get in a taxi to the hotel as the access road is a little on the small side for a coach. It was no big deal. Ok firstly the hotel. Very nice indeed, very clean, brand new decor and very well presented. Rooms are reasonable size with nice shower it's one of those huge shower heads that rains down on you encapsulating your whole body. There is a small flat screen tv in the room BBC world news and TNT movies are in English. You also have a small safe and mini bar for an extra fee. Balcony sea view have small table and a couple of chairs great views and ample size. The actual hotel is a well presented neat unit comprising of four floors with reception and restaurant. Other facilities are available in the sister hotel (the sunrise) down the road. The restaurant is great with a large choice of freshly prepared food for both breakfast and dinner. In The evening it's great to dress up and dine outside overlooking the pool and sea. The hotel is on the sea front and you have access to free sunbeds. Staff.. Ok staff at the hotel are really good and hard working they work really long hours and always seen to give 110%. There are a couple of staff members however who I feel strongly let the team down. There is the restaurant manager a tall grey haired chap who I never once saw crack a smile he takes your meal ticket as you walk in, has a mooch about the restaurant then come half 8 he plates himself a dinner up n starts eating. He never once introduced himself Infact I walked past him the first night due to the fact he was in a pair of suit trousers and a floral shirt, all staff are in uniform and look smart but he clearly let's the team down in both dress and personality. The 2 ladies behind the reception could also do with cheering up, we were never greeted with a smile and always felt a bit awkward on approaching the counter as they were always eating a meal. The only other negatives we found were that while eating our evening meal the hotel allow smokers to spark up at the tables outside but let me tell you the smoke is everywhere and is horrible for a non smoker. It was mainly the eastern Europeans smoking which is probably the norm to them but I guess if you are from England like we are we have a no smoking policy in restaurants. Seriously though just for the couple of hours at meal time it would have been lovely to have a nice meal without my eyes squinting with all the smoke. The other thing is be prepared to be harassed when venturing off out for a romantic peaceful stroll after dinner. It ain't Gunna happen. Not in turkey. I can almost guarantee there is a turkish man aged
between 18-30, spiked or slicked back hair every 20meters spouting the same old crap to entice you in to his bar or restaurant. To be honest with you the tourists are sick of it and you can see couples dodging ducking and diving their way around the streets like they, are in some covert operation. Ok they are my only gripes. To finish on a positive. lovely hotel. Lovely location.
