Right where the hell do I start?.
This turned out to be the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.
On arrival we thought it all looked rather nice, then we were taken to our room.
ROOM...Absolutely disgustng, stained pillows, flthy toilet bowl and shower cubicle, curtains hanging off, no way of making any snacks as there was absolutely nothing in the "kitchen" to use.
The sofabed was a complete waste of time and to make matters worse it was infested with bed fleas.
After we complained about the bed fleas the room was fumigated along with quite a lot of other ones. This was an action that should have been taken long before or they could even have replaced all of the beds as they knew this was a problem but they would take no responsibility for a lot of the guests walking around covered in flea bites.
Hotel Food... Totally inedible crap.
On my advice do not eat at the Ilayda, go across the road the Anastasia or just down the road to the Anfi Bar both had great food and you also got your free breakfast at the Anfi.
Swimming Pool Areas.
The main pool at the front was really busy so we manly used the one at the rear of the hotel.
The bar at this pool was never open so if you wanted a drink you had to get the waiter/pool attendent to go to the man pool.
Totally forbidden to take water or juice from outside the hotel to the pool area.
Staff were quite insistent about this but just ignore them and nothing is said.
Luckily enough we met some great people round the pool area who would be in the same position as we were in so at the end of the day we just had to laugh about our very own "Fawlty Towers"
Tour Company.
Scottravel, our first time ever for using this company, their company motto is "Passport to your Dreams" , this must be the worst company we have ever used and the rep was totally incapable of carrying out his job properly, when we asked him to shift us to another hotel he totally blanked us.
There was a moment when I felt like grabbing him by the throat and learning him some manners. Since we have returned we have sent away a letter of complaint to Scottravel so we will let everybody on here know the outcome.
Marmaris.
What a lovely place this is.
We met so much nice people outwith our hotel and if it wasn,t for these people making us all feel wanted we would certainly be looking at the whole Turkey experience in a different light.
From Bar/cafes to shops etc everybody was so helpfull.
If you are unfortunate enough to stay at the Ilayda please go to the shop across the road and speak to "Jimmy", a great guy who will give you the best exchange rate for your British money.
Finally....... If you are unlucky enough to be booked into this hotel, please think twice or contact your travel agent to ask for another hotel.
