“actually what i would call a hell hole”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2009

this was our third time in marmaris.first stay was in icemeler 2nd stay in nergis select.
we took our daughter and her partner it was their 1st time in turkey.
How shocked was i when after telling my daughter how clean turkey was we arrived
at around midnight .walked up the path which was so overgrown it felt like a day with the triffids.we looked at the pool which had rust marks under the lights in the water .Then we were greeted with a scene from the hills have eyes.GOOD PLACE TO MAKE A HORROR MOVIE!!!!.everyone just stared at you well the strange women sitting around the bar did .
receptionist didnt speak very good english but by this stage i just wanted to turn and go home .the carpet in the lobby was quite nice but it ended at the top of the stairs to be replaced with what looked like worn underlay this extended into the bedrooms and was badly stained the light switch fell off the wall as did my daughters in next room.toilet had a permanent stain on it ,as did my daughters in next room.my daughters partner went to have a shower the shower head fell off and dirty water came up through the drain.
the balconys were so close that we were able to stand and have a conversation no problem. well after a very restless night we went to the reps meeting.listened to the usual patter and when i told her we wanted moved the last straw being confronted with the food we were supposed to eat ,she got very stroppy with us and didnt understand
what our problem was even though she never stayed at the hotel herself!!! she was a right little madam .but we got moved that day had to pay £85 worth ever penny that was for her administration costs and left to get taxis down to oasis hotel on main street into marmaris .what a difference, I AM SURPRISED TO SEE THAT THIS HOTEL IS STILL IN BROCHURES AS 3 STAR it maybe has been upgraded and refurbished from i stayed there but i have been to marmaris 4 times since and everytime i drive past going to icemeler it just looks the same and brings the same shiver down my spine ,but to be fair
we did stay in it in 2004 so it could have improved since then but reading some of the reveiws it doesnt seem a lot has changed i rate it a 1 star.

“Basic you buy cheap holiday you get cheap holiday!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2009

I stayed at the adler hotel in june 08. only my 3rd time abroad and first time in all inclusive. not at all what i expected. The hotel well it was very basic (but bearing in mind we paid a cheap price so thats what ur gunna get) the dining room was a marbled room very light and airy and some was outside you could choose where to sit and you were not forced outside (like said in previous reviews) the room were very basic needing updating and very small balcony. no possibilty of a double bed only twins. stained carpet. shower flooded the bathroom no bath. did have built in hair dryers though. and air con was limited to certain times of the day. the pool was all one depth and one person in our party couldnt swim so couldnt even have a dip to cool off, as it was 2metres deep. some times there wasnt a sun bed and no extra space to lay down a towel if u wanted to be by the pool. all inclusive my bottom. food was horendous mystery meat it was mince like and formed in different patty shapes every night some sausage like some burger shape some small bite sized and in was in a tomatoey stew. only had chicken once a week and fish once a week and chips were served with these. the rest of the meals was mashed potatoes or rice. breakfast was typical turkish and more salad bar than anything. all though fresh bread at every meal was very nice. drinks were awful the best bit was the cola. the place was swarming with polish and russians and they were like a army they congregated 5 mins before dinner service and got all the best fresest food. and drank the hotel dry of vodka one night.
the staff were amazing so friendly. some were quite pervy. the manager sat down with us most nights and told us about his family his culture and the business. all the staff were over worked and never seemed to have a day off. they even slept at the hotel. they told us they only got paid equivalenbt of £1 an hour.
marmaris itself was very commercialised if u like black pool and really lively place u will like marmaris. i preferred to travel to icemeler every day for 50pence and lounge on a beautiful beach. recommend the jeep safari if u like a waterfight was so much fun. but dont borrow ur water guns off them as they charge u £5. and later on around the safari they will offer you it cheaper. the holiday was what we and the staff made it. i would like to see changes to the decor and clientel of this hotel but please keep the staff and pay them more they deserve it.

“Never Again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2008

The staff at the hotel were extremely freindly and welcoming right through from the receptionists to the maids. However this is where the positives of the hotel end. Upon arrival the hotle appeared tired and in dire need of refurnishment from the outside and also on the inside. The rooms themselves did not resemble what was depicted in the synopsis of the hotel. The doors to the rooms appeared to have been broken into as there were scratch marks and even cracks around the locks. The bathroom was very primitive, the shower curtains were dirty and held up precariously by a chain and did not appear inviting at all. the carpets of the rooms were stained and there were exposed electrical wires behind the beds, the balconies were very close together which provided no privacy what so ever. The food was limited and there was no clear explanation as to the food being seved, it was often cold and served for consecutive meals and even days. The hotel guests were mainly Polish and German and what little British guests there were were made to feel very unwelcome and we were all stared at which was not comforting at all. The all inclusive bar provided a very small collection of drinks of which there were often problems with the beer. The location was poor also, it was stated that the hotel was close to the main resort center however a good quater of our holiday money was spent on transport into and back from the resort. If it were not for the lovely staff the stay in this hotel would definitely have been unbareble.
