“Best boutique hotel in the south.”

It is my fourth time staying in this relaxing hotel during the last 12 years. Located in a forest on a small river. However, beautiful crystal clear beach is only a few minutes away. Local animals; ducks, swans, peacocks, lots of fresh water fish accompany you while you are having your breakfast.

Every time I go I always see the same people working at the hotel.Superb service. Local food is so delicious with rich open buffet. Salads and some fruits are locally grown at the hotel.

Most rooms have balcony. You do not need air-conditioning since you live in a forest. it is really cool even during August.

Room Tip: If you are a big family, better to get a suite.

“This hotel definitely Lives up to my LA Standards!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

I had the pleasure of staying at this luxury boutique hotel just last week. Coming from Los Angeles (where I live literally between the SLS Beverly Hills and The Four Seasons on Doheny Drive) and being fortunate enough to have experienced the best hotels in Chicago, DC and New York, I can admit that I'm very much a hotel snob. So when I go on a relaxing, romantic, or family vacation, I refuse to settle for anything less than pure bliss. Golden Key Bordubet not only met my "snob" expectations, but exceeded them.

First I must share: do NOT become alarmed when you're traveling to the hotel!! You'll take a beautiful scenic road, traveling through Southern Turkey's Amazon. But if you're like me, you might say to yourself, "Beautiful, but where is this shuttle taking us!?" Rest assured, you'll arrive at the doors of paradise soon.

From the moment we pulled up, we were treated like royalty. The staff is courteous, helpful, bilingual and reliable. For me, the best service is the kind that goes unseen. The service at this hotel reminded me of my stays at the 5-Star Mandarin Oriental in Las Vegas--- at Golden Key, everything you'll ever dream of, need, or request just magically appears.

Luxury jungle is also another way to describe this hotel. The rooms are crisp white: clean, modern, welcoming and HUGE. There is no sterile "hotel vibe" here, or that cramped, dusty feeling you get when staying at other boutique hotels. Something I've never experienced before: while blow-drying my hair in my room, I heard a pecking at my window. I looked over and there was a beautiful, blue & green speckled peacock that just came to say hello!

There are peacocks, parrots, white rabbits, koi fish and even roosters. I'm not definitely not the outdoorsy type, but found it impossible to not fall in love with the grounds of this hotel (my family was shocked at the fact that I wanted to be outdoors every minute of my time there). The ambiance is unmatched- white swans swim up to your table during breakfast and dinner! You may not want to share too much of your food with the swans though because the food is absolutely sinful (don't bother coming here if you're on a diet, you will cheat cheat cheat). Top chefs, organic foods, omelette bars, haute cuisine all the way. Everything about this hotel is exotic and lush, I'll let the pictures do the talking on this one.

And last but certainly not least- this hotel has a PRIVATE ISLAND. The Beverly Hills Hotel only has private cabanas people! You take a 10-minute boat ride over to a beautiful oasis where you can sunbathe on plush deck chairs overlooking the ocean, have a delicious lunch, go snorkeling or paddle boarding. And the ultimate must see- take the 5 minute walk up to the top of the island at sunset, the scenery will blow your mind.

After agonizing over which hotel to stay at during my all too brief journey to Southern Turkey, I have absolutely no regrets about my choice. "Cok Tesekkur ederim" Golden Key Bordubet- this LA native will be back soon :)

Room Tip: It's simple: just call the hotel and tell them EXACTLY what you want, and what you don't wan...

“Superb hotel in a superb location - ideal for R&R”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

My wife and I stayed here for a week in mid July and had one of our best holidays. We are normally fairly active on holiday, but, for personal reasons, wanted a week of complete relaxation in lovely surroundings, and we found it here at The Golden Key.

We booked with Exclusive Escapes, and thus were on half board - neccessary because of the remoteness of the property. We could not find fault with the selection and quality of food on offer, both at breakfast and dinner. (As clients of Exclusive Escapes, the 'egg menu' - omelettes, fried etc. - is included, so the high prices mentioned by earlier contributors do not apply). We are both vegetarian, but this was not a problem, especially as the head waiter invariably came to our table to see if there was anything special that they could make for us. There are two 'barbecue' nights, which include freshly made gozleme (Turkish pancakes with a choice of fillings), as well as the usual superb selection of mezzes. Dessert was from a selection of sweet traditional Turkish puddings and pastries, and a varied choice of fresh fruit.Yes, drinks are expensive, but no more than we have paid in similar rated properties elsewhere in Turkey, and bear in mind that this is a five star hotel. Also it is worth mentioning that bottled water, at 6TL (£2.40) is very expensive, but at mealtimes it is unlimited and free.

The room we were in was huge, with loads of drawer and hanging space. The shower room (no bath) was very well appointed with all the usual toitetries provided. Our balcony was secluded and big enough to accommodate a table and a couple of chairs. The beds could be made up as double or twin according to your preference.

As mentioned in previous reviews, the staff are superb and could not do more for you. Beach/pool towels are provided daily, and the towels in the room are changed frequently, sometimes more than once a day. During dinner the maids come to your room to turn down the beds and leave a small gift of fruit or chocolate - a nice touch.

This is a real gem of a hotel, perfect for a relaxing break. Would we go again?

Yes please!

“Umarim seneye gorusuruz!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2011

We spent two weeks (booked through Exclusive Escapes) at this property in July – so yes, it is hot; Turkey does have mosquitoes; and wildlife by a river in a sylvan setting can make noises – throughout the day and night! Why would anyone wish to complain about this?

Having read all the previous comments, it is obvious that Golden Key will not satisfy everyone’s requirements of an idyllic holiday – but it certainly did for us, we had a brilliant time! If you are not seeking total R & R, then this may not be the place for you. But if you are ... just relax.

The staff cannot do enough for you and are extremely polite and attentive. In particular:

Kudret (Manager); Ebru (Receptionist – my Turkish Teacher); Baran (Restaurant Manager) and his team comprising: Ali, Ferdi, Erdi (three brothers); Emre, Ercan, Nese, Aykut and Mohammed; and not forgetting our cleaner Mesure who left a host of surprises in our room.

The property is in an idyllic location with its own private beach club accessible by water taxi (15 mins) skilfully skippered by Ramazan in a scene reminiscent of ‘The African Queen’. If the wind picks up and the water becomes too choppy for a small craft, alternative transport is made available - an air conditioned minibus.

The beach club is unique. There is no sand although the decking and pontoon facilitate excellent sunbathing (with quality loungers and giant cushions) and diving access to the sea. The water is crystal clear and the facilities (i.e. washrooms and showers) are superb.

Food on a half board basis (due to the remoteness) at the restaurant or beach club is excellent. Drinks maybe somewhat expensive, but don’t let this spoil your enjoyment.

The rooms (available to Exclusive Escapes) live up to their expectations of being some of the finest in their portfolio.

Would we recommend the Golden Key Bordubet? Certainly (but don’t all rush to go there as this is our gem!) Will we return? – Definitely. Umarim seneye gorusuruz.
