Arrived at the hotel at midnight to be greeted by Karen and Paul who whisked our bags upstairs straight away for us. The atrium of the Domino Palace is truly unique and everywhere you look, the place is sparklingly clean thanks to Molly the wonder Housekeeper. Her husband, Kevin, is the main chef and all his food is fantastic...even my VERY fussy husband enjoyed everything he ate...thanks Kevin for putting up with him....i promise to leave him at home next year lol.
Karen and Paul totally make the Palace into a truly 5* experience regardless of their rating...from the very first minute we were made to feel part of the family there...when we went on a 2 day trip, both of us kept saying we couldn't wait to get home again, that's how strongly we felt about it...and it wasn't just us, everyone who stayed at the hotel was made to feel equally welcome. Karen is the ORACLE, if you need anything, however trivial it may seem, she's the one to ask and it didn't matter how busy she was, she always had time to chat and help. Paul is a special person....he DJ's (although some of his songs are a bit dubious , you know the ones i mean Paul lol), he's the quiz master, cocktail maker extra-ordinaire and genuinely nice guy.
The rooms are an average size but had all the storage you would need...and to be honest the amount of time you will spend in there does it really matter how big they are...towels were changed every day, molly studied towel origami and often makes them into little surprises for you...we had dogs, elephants and love hearts...very sweet indeed.
We were meant to stay at a different hotel but it closed early....thank god it did, otherwise we would never have found this gem. We will definitely going back (sorry guys lol) and can't wait .
Room Tip: Just ask if you need anything...if Karen or Paul can't help, they will know the man who can
