Service was atrocious. There is actually NO Hotel there, just small dirty apartments scatterred up a hillside.Extremely difficult due to the number of stepsand hills to access. We would give 1 star only and that would be for the pool - the only nice thing about the place.The room was filthy, neither bedding or towels were changed.Food was poor quality and cold. When you try to complain everyne looses there ability to understand English!! They do not want to know - Our recommendation would be to holiday anywhere else but here.

I am always wary about reading bad reviews as well as leaving them, and you can see from our other reviews we do leave an honest account of the (recent) places we have been to. We holiday on the cheap as well as some expensive trips so are aware of the differences to expect (most of the time!!) and we don't have snobby standards, just apprecate a place to be like it is sold which this is not.

We were sold the Litera as a last minute deal as another resort was sold out - 11 nights all inclusive - 5 STAR accom!! we only paid just over £1100 for 2 which was cheap rate. Regardless of the bargain It was the biggest let down we have encountered for years. Some of the faults but certainly not all...

1.This is a 2 to 3 star and it will still be poor on expectations.
2.all inclusive means very poor food, restaurant is not very clean, food selection is terrible - breakfast was the worst we have ever seen. Terrible coffee and awful food.
3.bar service was unbelievably poor. It closes at 11pm for all inclusive regardless if you are waiting and we were charged 25 TLR for 2 branded vodkas after this. The bar staff pocketed the money and refused to serve spirits in anything but the smallest of tumblers (2 mouthfuls and they're gone). The lager isn't even Efes and is almost definitely watered. No bottled beer, very little mixers (non fresh) - can't even offer a decent cocktail. Staff here were very cheeky, sometimes offensive.
4.There are no fresh fruit juices anywhere - the endless supply of cherry and orange flavoured water is a powdered mix! Even the fresh fruit at breakfast is poor.
5. Rooms were very basic, unclean with air con units that failed to regulate temperature. Bedding was horrible, not even a tea/coffee making facility in double sea view room!! Cleaners were rubbish, didn't clean the shower once which was evident as when we arrived we found matted hairs from previous guests. Big sweaty hand marks on walls, stained furniture.
6.Steps - like you would not believe and when there are no steps there are very steep inclines. Look at some of our photos.
7.Turkish baths were a con - non of the pics were of the real place which was a mouldy run down building. Public toilets were very bad.
8. So poor we jumped on the half hour bus each morning for breakfast in Marmaris, where we spent the most of the days and evenings, including meals and drinks.
9.Shop is just an excuse for a shop, even had a pile of old towels from previous guests!
10.No Internet

The good bits..
1.Location is great, very quiet with a nice private area along the water to enjoy the sun or water sports. You even get the odd group of dolphins making a brief appearance (late in the day/early evening)
2.Sea view is lovely.
3.Pool is nice. It looks great but it's just nice. Good size but badly maintained and could do with updating. Parasols are non rectractable and fixed firm to the ground - can be a pain if you are chasing a tan - hit the small paved beach area instead if you insist on going.
4.Some of the staff are nice (some are plain rude and could do with washing daily)

I could go on but it would become a rant. I will put up some pics and strongly advise that if you are looking for a place in Marmaris then look elsewhere. All inclusive doesn't suit the area very well. The town and marina are very nice and worthy of exploring for food and drinks and mixing with the locals and other holiday makers.

Overall very nice location, the only problem is you'll end up wanting to get out of it to get decent food, drinks and to escape the very cheap vibe that the place has.

We hate leaving bad feedback but in this case we think it's a fair warning.

we stayed at the litera marmaris beach resort, wen we got there we were so tierd we just wanted to get sum sleep but before we even got to our room we had to climb a steep hill then down lots of steps, wen we eventually got to our room we sat on the beds and they were damp everything was damp, we reported to our rep but she wasnt interested. the food was nice sum nights but the rest of the time it wasnt. there was no entertainment on a night it was just one game of bingo and then it was a case of amusin urselves. the town centre was a 10 min bus ride and the last bus into town was bout 11.30 then u had to pay for a taxi bk wich we paid 37 lira for (rip off) the nyt life in the town centre was amazing. the pool was disgustin the first day it had a dead frog in it and a black bag we found out it was only opened the day before we arrived. it was a case of making wat u had a good and fun time but i wouldnt recommend to old couples and kids.

Myself and my partner came back last week from Marmaris. We booked a late deal and managed to get an all inclusive for a fairly resonable price for a "5 star hotel!" to this place. After we booked our holiday we foolishly read the reviews on it and was horrified to find that this hotel was pretty much slated by everyone who had visited it with a few positive reviews. We decided that these negative reviews were from people who had high standards of a hotel and we thought as a young couple we would probably find the hotel to be just fine for us.
After a long and tiresome journey we finally reached our destination at around 4.30am Turkish time. It was still dark and when we looked at the hotel we laughed at the reveiws we had read previously and thought it looked stunning and we would have a fantastic holiday...how wrong we were!!
We walked to reception where we were greeted quite nicely by a young gentleman that spoke quite good English.The only slip up he seemed to make was that I had to remind him that we were all inclusive as he had forgotten to give our wristbands to us.
He rang for one of the hotel workers to meet us at the reception to collect our bags and show us to our hotel. The man picked up both our suitcases and escorted us up the steep steps (which we didn't mind) to our room. Our front door had a few wasps on the door casing as there was an outside light they seemed to be attracted to, we could cope with this. As we entered the room the lights were turned on and a swarm of wasps flew in on top of us. My partner told the man we were incapable of sleeping in this room as he was allergic to wasps the man who spoke no English, told us in no easy understanding to spray them with water. We refused and told him we wanted another room. He grunted at us and was not at all happy with us wanted to go back to reception. Both my partner and I were so scared to leave the bedroom as all the wasps were congregating in the entrance and the bathroom of our room. It was terrifying, my partner had to literally push me out the door as I was too scared to move.
We picked our bags up and ran down the stairs near to the reception. The man grunted and pointed at us, which we interpreted as staying where we were. He went to reception and picked up another key for another room and we were led down a set of stairs, which can only be described as a basement. It was horrendous. The room we were led in had cobwebs on the door frame, a broken door, the bathroom (if you could call it that) was mouldy and looked very unclean and inside dirty towels were strewn on the beds and the beds were unmade. We safely assumed that this room had already been used. My partner again to the member of staff that this room was unacceptable and we would not be staying here. The staff member slammed the rooms phone off the stand it was on which made me more than little apprehensive of being on a resort where we knew no one and were being treated with so little respect after paying good money to stay here. We again picked our bags up and stormed our way down to the reception where we asked what time our rep would be arriving at the hotel. To our disgust we were told no rep would be available to us as there wasn't one.
We decided we would not be staying at this hotel and would stay somewhere where we could decide the action to take after a bit of sleep.
We asked for a taxi to be rang to take us to town and were told he could not get one for us. So we took it upon ourselves to walk to town. After walking for quite sometime a taxi stopped on the roadside and offered us a lift closer to town. We walked for miles that morning trying to figure out what to do with two suitcases in tow. We did consider going to the airport and trying to get a flight home, however my partner had been to Marmaris before and had stayed in the Amphi Apartment. On arrival here we were warmly greeted and given a room for the night. We both breathed a sigh of relief on entering the room. It was lovely. That morning we phoned the company we had booked the holiday with and told them of our experience. We were told that we had to go back to the hotel and stay there and that we needed to speak to the manager about it. My partner explained we were not trekking our way back up there to look at another disgusting room that we were going to say no to staying in. We stayed in the Amphi Apartments for the duration of our holiday and we really enjoyed ourselves.
