My partner and I went to this hotel last year (as the Litera Marmaris Beach Resort) and it was absolutely fantastic. It was on the hillside so it was quite a walk to get up to your rooms, but you are told this anyway (or you can at least see from the pictures) plus after all the food I'd eaten, it was good to have a little work out!!
The food is lovely (a bit repetitive) however, there is a lot of choice and the desserts are to die for!
All hotel staff are friendly if you give them the time of day and don't use the typical English attitude of turning your noses down at them.
The rooms were simple but clean and that's all I was hoping for. You had plug sockets that looked like they were on the pi$$ (excuse the french) but they were usable.
The weather was absolutely fantastic and the swimming pool whilst massive, was extremely clean.
Two concerns:
1) There were quite a few wasps at the top of the hill were the sauna is, but I do believe they have sorted that now.
2) I didn't agree with them cooking food outside (like squid and octopus) as it was attracting wasps and flies, but they only did this the once so may have realized - plus I didn't eat it anyway.
ADVICE:
If anyone is venturing out to: BAR STREET (i.e: the local strip of clubs) I wouldn't bother. Cocktails are about 15 Lira - working out to be about £6 each - a rip off!
Turkey isn't for everyone - I've been a good 5/6 times and love the place & weather, however, my other half has said he doesn't want to go back because of the people (the men are really leery) but each to their own I guess.
Remember, any 3, 4 or even 5* abroad is NOT going to be the same as back home because of the high standards we have. At the end of the day - any holiday is what you make of it! We had a fantastic time and might even see you this year!! :)
If you want any pictures or anything - let me know I've got loads.
Vicki :)
