“Not a nice experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2011

We were fooled by the LP review and too tired to start looking somewhere else. This place has no real warmth and the "stunning glass-enclosed terrace" is actually just a table with nice plants but covered by cheap asbestos roof (notoriously carcinogen). The hotel is hidden away and has a pathetic little sign, so that we had to drive around quite a lot to find it. We were offered apple tea when we arrived and we thought "nice!" but within 5 minutes a guy showed up to propose his para-diving services which we had no interest for. Everything was ominously priced with a label, I even caught a glimpse of a laundry service being offered for the outrageous equivalent of 10 euros (this is a backpacking place!).
Room was clean but very ugly with a shower built inside. We had to look hard for hot water because the pressure was next to zero. The bedding consist of a sort of towel which cannot cover the whole body and a blanket in which I had a horrible sleep.
Fethiye is overpriced and this is a problem, but this hostel really does not deserve your money.

“Lonely Planet Strikes Out Again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2010

By the time we stayed at Ferah Pension, we had been on the road for a couple of months already and so had become accustomed to the gap between the flowery Lonely Planet recommendations and the reality of the lodgings. This was a new low.

The bathrooms are a barely cordoned off toilet cubicle with a shower head attached above it. The combined toilet/shower arrangement is not unusual in budget acommodation in Turkey, however, in this bathroom you showered directly over the toilet bowl and sink - the corner was claustrophobically small.

Breakfast is dire. The portions are mean. Charging for coffee is really an insult, the boiled eggs weren't, they were raw. The items (polony, jam and margarine plastic containers, cucumber, tomato) were the cheapest and nastiest components of this type of breakfast I have come across. In that respect, the meanness of the servings was a blessing.

Lonely Planet describes Ferah as having a 'stunning glass enclosed patio'. In reality this is a PVC covered, mosquito trap verandah with the distracting display on every surface of the hostesses artworks - mostly nude women with angel wings. These at least provide some humour.

The location, as mentioned in other reviews, is incovenient. You need to jump onto the dolmus for 8-10 minutes to get into town, and there's a short but steep climb once you get off, be warned if you have a heavy backpack.

Our room was within a sort of plywood outhouse plonked atop the building below, with a jerry-rigged rickety staircase leading up to it.

On the positive side, the room was clean, and the views of the sea were nice.

“The two coolest Turkish Pension owners in existence”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 May 2010

My wife and I stayed in this pension in lovely Fethiye for about 3 days. The pension owners (Monica and Tuna) were some of the nicest people we met in a country reknowned for its hospitality and were extraordinarily helpful with advice about the area (especially on how to avoid being overcharged for boat cruises and day excursions). The central court area is a wonderful garden setting, all rooms are decorated with Monica's paintings and are very clean and airy. Great place, great people.

“Nice and comfort place in winter with unlimited hot water!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 March 2010

I was only on planning to stay in Fethiye for a couple of nights but ended up staying for 4 nights as I felt completely at home after arriving in Ferah Pension. When I arrived a long bus journey, this place was not so crowded but when I left, the place was packed with travelers. This place has a nice and very relaxing atmosphere. It was also mentioned by fellow traveler whom I met here as well. Especially, if you are already traveling other parts and would like to rest to regain engergy before going on to where ever you are heading to. This is a great place. The owner, Tuna and Monica make sure you are happy at this place and they give a good advice to vicinity attractions. In addition, it was also nice to have hot shower available 24/7 as many hostels do not have this luxury. What a nice place, it was! I both liked the town of Fethiye and Ferah Pension.

“Good marketing and swindle!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2010

The hotel advertises that it does free pick up and drop off at the bus station.
It was true, but ….

1. Citation from the one of last comments: „Before we were even shown to our rooms, we were given a book with a list of the tour services they provide, and bashing other companies. Why the negativity?” – Our experiences was the same! It seems that Ferah Pansion have tried to discredit its competitors.
2. The bathroom was TERRIBLE (eg. the door was very very moldy - see the attached pictures).
3. The rest room was poor (but clean), and somebody drilled in the roof above us (between 10.00 am-18.00 pm) but even so the price of the room was high
4. Tea was given, but the coffee was an extra charge (nescafé+milk powder!)
5. There was an extra charge (10TL) for using the AC (we didn’t have to use it because of the weather) when it should be included in the price of room (see the attached picture)

My simple advise is: Don't stay there!!
