for those of you who are going on holiday to the fethiye area of turkey this year or next, have a look at kayakoy above olu deniz.
it is a beautiful little village built around the remains of a rather larger greek village.all the ruins of the old one are there and the surrounding scenery and farms are beautiful.
further down the road out of the village,is gemeler beach, its a lovely bay with warm clear water, ideal for snorkelling.
there is a small charge to get onto the beach and you are charged for sunbeds but if like me you like to lay on the sand, this does'nt matter.one word of warning;take a packed lunch if you are on a budget or have kids with you.we ate at one of the small cafes on the beach and ffor turkey,it cost rather a lot.i paid more for 3 of us than i did for 4 in a good restaurant in calis.the food was good but bbq chicken, salad and chips did'nt warant 90 lire
