We stayed at Yildirim in July - the accom. suited us perfectly - we were 3 females with backpacks looking for a budget, but clean room. Rooms were basic, but spacious, clean & comfortable - our beds were fine - the bathroom was large in comparison to most places we stayed in over 5 wks. It DID have a shower hose without a shower cubicle, but to be honest, I loved that - it was a new experience & each new experience is what traveling is about. The hot water was temperamental, but again, it wasn't something important to us!
What IS important to us is the cleanliness - yes it was clean ... the safety - felt very safe, Omer was always at reception ..... AND the atmosphere - Omer (the manager) was fabulous .. he booked our bus to Pamukkale, gave us info on the locals' bus to Olundeniz, & was genuinely interested in helping everyone!
If you're a budget traveler, a single traveler or just looking for a bed in a friendly guestroom, you won't be sorry. I loved sitting around the breakfast area hearing about everyone's plans for the day (or week or year!!) - you will meet all ages & nationalities and everyone has an amazing adventure to tell.
There is a fridge with water, soft drinks ... & beer (I think) - it works on an honesty system. There is also internet avail for a small fee.
It is very close to the harbour and about 10 - 15 mins into town ... We also walked to the Rock Tombs - it was a workout in the middle of the day, in 40 degrees, but we enjoyed ourselves!
For those looking for accom similiar to a hostel, this place is great! I would definately stay here again.
Thank you Omer for your kindness (& also for carrrying my heavy backpack to the roadside - haha) ... We Loved Fethiye ... & they have the BEST Turkish Delight in ALL of Turkey!! (we wish we had bought more, rather than wait to buy it in Istanbul)
