“Nice Hotel Turkuaz Fethiye - Oludeniz & Blue Lagoon - very pleased”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 July 2011

After the end of the stay I left Side - Antalya Turkish Riviera to visit, it is said that is one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean, Fethiye - Oludeniz proposed first stop, one of the most spectacular views that you're given to see you in Turkey, a country generally "dry", Fethiye is a town situated between the mountains to the sea is beautiful, small and not very spectacular, but very convenient financially to spend a holiday.
Turkuaz Club Hotel in Fethiye, because I want to talk about it is a hotel that does not say much at first internet search, something simple, with no beach to the sea, have fairly large pool (about 20 / 40 m) and the small 5 / 5 m for children, accommodation is in villas with 2 and 3 levels, situated in a lush garden, gorgeous, with thousands of flowers, palms, bananas, lemons and oranges, really have a beautiful garden, have a soccer field and two tennis courts with synthetic surface. Near the hotel have a beautiful area with five villas with swimming pool (10 / 5 m) and sauna (located in the attic), these beautiful villas have ground floor and attic floor. Feature total from the kitchen where we found sealed glasses (as you buy at the store), microwave, stove, refrigerator, all pots, pans teflon (sealed) cutlery, plates, bowls, etc.. Bathrooms are three in number, one on each level, downstairs toilet service without shower or bath, 1st floor bathroom impressive, with mirrors everywhere, super equipped with bathtub, absolutely gorgeous, and the attic a another bathroom fitted properly and the piece de resistance - a large corner tub positioned - jacuzzi, absolutely functional, absolutely gorgeous.
Rooms on the ground floor a large living with large sofa and two armchairs, TV. satellite and a large table with 6 chairs, the living room has exit to the swimming pool and 2 terraces, where the morning you can sit on rattan chairs and enjoy a hot coffee, amazing, level 1, three bedrooms and a bath type rooms and the attic room type bedroom, a bathroom and a sauna. Exterior finish of these houses are extremely well made, coated stone, looked extremely well, inside everything was perfect (very rare in Turkey) was extremely well done, on the ground floor clash with the furniture, with curtains, white painted walls, everything looks great.
The hotel staff knows how to behave very nicely with tourists, are very sociable, wine and sit at table with you, gives you different information about Fethiye area, are amazing. The breakfast buffet was open, very rich, both in terms of morning beverages (coffee - Nescafe only, orange juice and cherry, sweet milk, yogurt, water), and especially of a specific food breakfast, you could find 2-3 types of cheese, butter, margarine, jam, different types of sausages (Turkish - no taste), cookies ..... resistance and pieces of breakfast - two types of traditional pies very tasty.
After leaving the hotel, I was honest with super think about these people, even if the reception in the evening I met an employee who gave the hands more than they can speak English. It is essential that we understand. Only major deficiency is that this hotel is the large beach, to the beach in Fethiye you had to go around. 7 km to Oludeniz and about. 20 km.
After breakfast, we decided to visit Oludeniz, an area about which we know too little compared to what can it offer in terms of landscapes, relaxing.
Once on the beach of Oludeniz, I was moving in front of our eyes held a wonderful landscape, separated from fairy tales like a huge grand bay surrounded by mountains, which have an amazing turquoise sea, dozens of paragliders taking advantage of ascending currents created by those forms of relief were present all over the deep blue sky. The beach there long approx. 2 km wide, averaging about 100 m. Ships "old" offering cruises in the area, swung lazily at anchor in this corner of paradise. Superb, absolutely superb, he remained on the retina that amazing landscape, for me one of the most beautiful landscapes in Turkey.
Described above the Bay is "Blue Lagoon" in essence, as the Turks call it, is really a lagoon with calm water, undisturbed by the waves of the Mediterranean, they view you fill quietly on her beaches, different tourists lounge chairs, are under colorful parasols, a overwhelming proportion, Western nations (a few hours as we spent there, I heard Russian - so there was silence). Beautiful scenery, Oludeniz is undoubtedly little known world of tourism, too little valued by the Turks, little promoted in the media, amazing beauty of the bay and lagoon next to him, the silence around you make you there feel great, absolutely wonderful here.

My family will gladly recommend Turkuaz Hotel in Fethiye, Oludeniz, we felt very comfortable there.

“Great Staff”

Had a great week. Hotel was clean, staff could not have been more helpful and the food was very good. We were initially given a very small attic room which we were not happy with, but the next day we were moved to a very nice large room. The hotel was full the first two days and this meant a wide variety of food to choose from. After that, with only a handful of guests, we had set meals but this was understandable and the quality was very good.

We liked the location which provided a nice walk into Calis (about 40 minutes to the centre) and it was easy to get into Fethiye on the bus which took 20 minutes and cost about a pound.

The area is really nice, lots of wildlife, good walks, fantastic scenery, wonderful local people and excellent food. With the sun shining for most of the week, what more could you want!

“Misleading location”

We have just returned from Turkuaz gardens after1 weeks holiday. If you think that it is within walking distance from the centre of Calis beach think again , It is about 3 miles down a busy unlit road , It costs 15tl each way ( about £6 ) , No dolmus goes there from the hotel. You have to go into Fethiye then catch another 1 to Calis beach . There is a quiet beach within 10 minutes walk , if you look to left you will see the resort of Calis beach . .Turkuaz Gardens itself is clean , The food is ok , rooms do not have 24 hour hot water or tea and coffee making facilities .Take your own. Waiters and cleaners are very friendly .Bar stays open as long as some one is propping it up .Ive read other reviews about the roooms smelling musky , well its the tree`s and bushes outside the blocks it isnt that bad .as all hotels it is full of all nationalities . The rooms are cleaned every day. Air con cost me 40 tl ( about £17) for the week We only went on 1 tour , we went to the mud baths and Turtle beach, But beware as they take you to a gold dealers 1st 1 price for the locals and 1 for the tourists, SO BEWARE ! We didnt go into shop just had a cold drink instead . You get picked up at 9am and dropped off at 8pm, so its a very long day.Another tip is when buying trips you must haggle The trip should have cost £15 but knocked him down to £9 each. Another tip is to take sterling and change it over there ,you will get a better exchange rate . Dont change money in Turkuaz gardens as they give you a poor rate , go into Fethiye or Calis beach . they will tell you nowhere to change money at night which is a load of rubbish , some open till midnight. you will get a at least 10 tl more . A pint is 4TL and a spirit is 12 TL . All in all not a bad place to stay ( if you like it quiet )

“Good value for a budget holiday”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2010

We stayed at the Turkuaz Garden the last 2 weeks in June so there were few children about and many of the guests were Turkish
We had a roof room which was very small but comfortable. Several flights of stairs to get up to it so a problem if mobility is not too good.
The room was cleaned most days and the beds changed about 3 times over the fortnight - including 2 occasions when the bed was decorated with flowers (very pretty but it also included a proportion of the local insect life!)
The towels and sheets were a bit old and tired but clean. There was only hot water for showers in the evening - we presume because it was heated during the day by solar panels.
The food for us was very good - typically mediteranean, lots of salads and aubergines cooked in every way you could imagine. We had half board and although samey, there was always a different main course at night.
The pool was clean and usually almost empty, so swimming was a great pleasure (whether this will change during school holidays is another matter!)
The staff were very friendly and helpful although most had very basic English and communication at times was sometimes difficult.
The hotel is fairly remote and we used the local dolmus service to get around - very straightforward once you know how!
The hotel advertised that is was close to Calis beach but in actual fact it was only close (10 minutes walk) to a stoney and not very appealing beach. The real Calis beach was 45 minutes walk away and that was very beautiful.
We probably would not go there again as we saw all the sites and beaches in the immediate locality but would still recomend it for a budget holiday if you can get a good deal

“Perfect for lounging around pool and chilling out”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2010

I have just returned from a one week stay with my boyfriend at this hotel (we are both aged 23) and upon writing my review i read the others and i had to double check i was on the right page as some of the reviews are awful, i can only think that i chose a lucky week or did not have as high expectations as others.

You get what you pay for and for a cheap hotel i didnt expect much, i have been to turkey before and paid more and had a fantastic time.

SERVICE - We arrived at the hotel at 7am monday morning and were also told like other reviewers that the hotel was full and that our room would not be available until it had been cleaned at 12pm. I said that my room had been paid for the sunday night so it should not be full, once this was said we were given a room to put our things in while we had breakfast and the maid who then arrived was sent straight to our room to clean it. I can only think that although rooms are booked they double book when they think guest wont arrive.

The service was not the best i have recieved, the staff were no way as friendly as ones i had had in other areas of Turkey - minus the barman. I found the manager (?) rather rude (wore a blue polo) as he would come to reception and interrupt the receptionist who was helping us by firing orders at him, rather than wait till the guests had been seen and then interrupt.

The waiters did not always come to ask you a drink order and you could spend 10minutes trying to get their attention or have to go to the bar yourself. They did not seem to speak great english either and never got into much conversation.

Food - Food i was rather impressed with. I have been all inclusive before and usually was stuck with salad and chips as i dont like fish, but this hotel did do a nice half board menu. The evening meal was mainly soup, salads, but also a really nice main meal which was varied of chicken and pork and fish. Meatballs, pizza, stew like meals etc.
Breakfast was rather basic, bread, jams, cereal (stale) scrambled egg, hard board egg and ham.

Lunch you could eat, 4TL for a plate of chips (v nice) and cheeseburgers for 6TL which were delicious. For snacks we walked down the road and visited a women (turn left out of hotel, left for 5mins and its on yr right) where we got cheap bottles of drink, ice cream and biscuits. Further down that road is also another shop selling more varied foods and drink.

Drinks - Drinks as described before were put on a tab system which had its pros and cons, it could be hard to keep track of your bill if you did not keep your receipts but you were never under any doubt what you were paying unlike what one reviewer posted as you signed each receipt and drinks prices were clearly stated. A 1.5litre bottle of mineral water was 2TL =roughly £1 but a small and i mean SMALL glass of coke was 3TL = £1.50 which was scandalous. We soon became wise and walked 5mins down the road where we bought a 1.5litre bottle of coke for the same price, 3TL. And the fact the glass of coke was filled with the same bottle made it worse!

ROOMS - The room did seem very small at first but definitely manageable, double bed, drawers, dressing up table and a small bathroom with shower sink and toilet. no bath. As well as a small balcony. The rooms are seperated into two blocks with 3 floors. We never experienced any noise apart from the first nights entertainment but that finished at midnight. Was a tv with varied channels including english programmes and TNT with a film on each night.

We had no light in the bathroom but we told reception and they said would get someone in a day, as soon as my boyfriend said how can my girlfriend shower in the dark they hurried this up and it was completed within the hour.

The rooms were kept very clean with towels and linen being changed daily.

We also bought air conditioning for £3 a day which was a life saver, it was excellent ( i can only think the past reviewer didnt actually pay for air con as it wud still run without but did not power cool unless u specifically asked at reception to pay for it) and kept us very nice and cool, even so much so that throughout the night i got too cold!

Entertainment - There was none. The first night (monday) there was a singer and some belly dancing but apart from that there was no entertainment for the rest of the week or even at the weekend.

Local Area - There were dolmus buses to take you into Fetiye or Olu Deniz but we never used these. We used the free minibus (3 times a day) to the Calis private beach, even tho we then reaised it was literally 10minutes down the road. The staff there were ever so friendly getting us a free sunbed and giving us use of free lilos for the sea. Lunchtime food there was actually cheaper than the hotel.

As said previous there are two shops nearby where you can buy drinks and snacks to smuggle into your rooms.

POOL - Pool was lovely and very warm, and a great suprise NO FIGHTING FOR SUNBEDS! Even at 10am when breakfast by the pool finished no one had laid towels out, so you never had to fight, there always seemed enough sunbeds for everyone even though we were told the hotel was fully booked.

The grounds are also very nice

TRIPS - We saw our rep once, he got our bathroom light fixed but apart from that we never saw him again. His main presence seemed to be to push the excursions of which he kept recommending the boat trip but after reading reviews on that we declined.

We did do the turkish bath tho which was fantastic and the staff at the dreamlands hotel were amazing and it was a lovely thing to do the first day to unwind and prep our skin for our tans. sauna, turkish bath and massage. £20.

We also did the Fetiye market day on the tuesday for £12 because we did not want the hassle of getting a bus but in hindsight it would of been better as we had to go to a turkish delight factory (was interesting though and good for gifts) and then the gold factory (which by this point the coach was so so hot i had a headache and felt ill) it was also suppose to go to a leather goods factory but after people complained about the detours (the rep didnt tell us) she cancelled the last one. We had a couple hours at the market and then we went to a hotel near the ghost town for lunch and then you could either go on a historical tour or use the hotels pool for a swim and cool down, so take your swim stuff.

OVERALL - Overall we got what we paid for and we had a lovely time relaxing by the pool and beach, nice food, and our £150 more than covered our lunch, drinks, and the few trips we did. There isnt much in the surrounding area, no shops or anything so it depends what you are looking for. If you want more evening entertainment or nightlife/shops i would reccomend Olu Deniz (Sun City hotel) as that was outstanding place and staff.

The holiday suited what we wanted and overall we had a great time. It was mainly filled with foreign families (turkish, german) , some Scottish and a few young couples like ourselves, but everyone kept to themselves and their was never any noise problems or rowdiness.

I would recommend if you just want to relax and not pay much (the only downside being drinks) but if its nightlife or shops for the evening or entertainment i would look elsewhere.
