I hate to be disparaging but here I go. The Bera looked like a glamorous hotel on first impressions but it was very ordinary. It lacked character for a Turkish city like Konya. The room was Ok, had all the necessary bits, clean bathroom, nice beds & curtains. But the staff were wooden & in our friend's case - rude. The porter did not assist with luggage at all even when the ladies were struggling. Personally, I did not have an issue with front staff but I saw there was some discrimination against women. I think if you want a western style hotel, you would be reasonably happy with the Bera (they do have a 2nd hotel in the same city which is less glam). The breakfast was fine, but again the staff need a bit of training in PR. The call to prayer did seem loud even though the window was shut. If you chose a room on the other side of the hotel, it may be softer.
To their credit, we were booked for their sister hotel also called Bera but we turned up at the wrong one & they said we could stay there at no extra cost - which was helpful of them.
