The Kismet Hotel is located in a safe, prime area in Izmir. It's blocks away from the seaside Kordon, the elegant shops and cafes of Alsancak and the Kulturpark. The hotel's prices are comparable to other 3-stars in the area. It's a shame that Kismet looks as though it hasn't been renovated in many years. Wallpaper was water stained and peeling off the walls, sheets on one of the beds had holes and the bathroom was grungy.

With it's location and exceptionally helpful and friendly staff, the Kismet has many positive things going for it, but it's in desperate need of an overhaul.

Average, clean room, old furniture, but okay. 2nd and 3rd floor seemd to undergo renovation at the time, as the halls there looked like a warehouse.
Staff did not speak English. That is the reason why I could not successfuly explain to them that the room next to me had his tap dripping quite noisily...very noisily.

It is also terribly difficult to find. I took a cab once just to drive me there because I already searched for 30 minutes walking around. It is in some narrow side street and difficutl to distinguish between all the other shops and buildings.
Location to seafront (not beach) is a very short walk, and to city centre is a 10 min cab ride.

Wont go there again because of problems to find it back mainly.
