Incredible view from the large spacious comfortable room. Upstairs restaurant was a very high standard at a quarter the price I would pay in Australia. I felt a little downbeat in my well worn travelling attire in the dining room. Everything a 5 star hotel should be. Izmir traffic is manic, so staying a few k's down the road is so much better than staying in the heart of the CBD, particularly when transiting back to the airport.
By the way, take a tour of the submarine moored outside the hotel, great fun.

This is a very good hotel that easily live up to its 5 stars.
The rooms are both cozy and comfortebly and the view (at least from my room), where stunning.
The service is 100% and the whole environment is class.
The thing You must know is that You need taxi to the city center. I walked and it is around 5-6 kilometer.
Another thing to mention is that the there is a sign at the front disc saying 439 euro for a room, at cheapest. I probably did a bargain at one agency at the net.
At 439 euro I do not know what to expect to fullfill my needs. :)

My husband and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza in late September, 2011. Our stay there was perfect: We had a sea view room, the laundry service was excellent, as was the shuttle to the airport. (You do need to make a reservation for the shuttle but then the whole process works very well). The location worked well for us (it is out of the downtown area) because we rented a car and drove to Ephesus, just an hour away and a very easy trip. If you cross the street, there is a wonderful seaside promenade that allows you to soak in the sea air and enjoy a pleasant walk. When we were there (not on a weekend), it was quiet. But, the weekends might be a bit more crowded. Just a tip...behind the hotel (away from the water) is a large, multi-level store--, similar to a Target in the USA. You can pick up practical items there just like a Target. But it also has a large, family friendly restaurant. We only had a mid-afternoon snack there but we would have tried it for a dinner had we been in Izmir longer. If you are travelling with kids, it might be a good option.

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for three nights in September, and we were pleasantly surprised by the location. Whilst it might not be walking distance to the centre of Izmir, we had rented a car, and found it easy to get around.

The hotel itself is what you would expect from a Crowne Plaza. We had one of the higher rooms, with a lovely view over the bay, and access to the Executive Lounge, which took care of breakfast. We also used the spa and found the facilities extensive - and the facial was excellent. Service at reception was friendly and efficient. The hotel is very reasonably priced, with a pleasant modern decor.

There were plenty of restaurants lined along the coast, and there we had probably the most authentic local experience of all our hotels in Izmir. It was nice not to be part of a "tourist" area for a change, and we were able to try some local specialities and enjoyed seeing everyone arrive at around 5 or 6 for a drink with their friends - usually tea though alcohol was available in one or two places.

Driving to Ephesus and Cesme was easy and convenient, and we personally much preferred it to being part of a tour group, as we could arrive and leave when we wanted. Ideally we would have had a day or two longer, particularly to get to Bergama, and to explore Izmir itself.

We were happy with our choice here - both in terms of staying in Izmir, and at the Crowne Plaza.
