I booked this hotel knowing its proximity to the windsurf centres and the decent reviews posted here. This hotel is not a 4*, even local. It could be if the facilities and the service were up to standards but everything we experienced went wrong. Now it is barely a bad 2* Hotel.
Positive Points: Proximity to ASPC/MISTRAL and other windsurf clubs, Nice reception / Lobby, Free wifi, That's all I can think of.
Negative points: I booked this hotel on travelrepublic and not part of a holiday package for 6 nights. We left the hotel after the 2nd night and managed to get a refund from Travelrepublic that was slow but helpful in the process of getting us out of the place. This Hotel is going under serious troubles and mid July, before we arrived, the police came because the staff was not paid and also because of a dispute between the owner and the management company.
Location: I was aware of the fact it is in a remote area but the immediate surroundings of the Hotel are nasty with public plastic toilets and all sort of mess.
I booked a room with a sea view that ended to be on the side of the building so only half sea the rest was parking and plastic public toilets. We asked to be changed but they could not accommodate.
The staff could not care less. They were arrogant at the reception, very poor knowledge of English, dirty uniforms... nothing pleasant.
We were on all inclusive as it was the only option possible at the time of booking. Everything was "finished". No diet coke, no cocktails... just cheap burgers, artificial juices, instant coffee, Pepsi, beer, water and a few cheap local alcohols.
Hot food horrible, decent vegetables and breads.
The room itself is just ok but looking at corners it was not clean (windows, bathroom). The bathroom is not pleasant at all, the ceiling looks like a cafeteria from the 80's.
Pool: Size is fine but it is a "no rules" concept so you can expect inflatable crocodiles, bombs, water fights and loud music. The Pool bar is the same as the main one. No choice and dirty. Incredibly used towels are provided and they were not looking very clean either.
One of the (only) 2 lift broke down on the day we left the hotel and it appears that after speaking with people at the windsurf club who stayed there that the 2nd lift was also down later on that week.
Conclusion: If you are a group of windsurfers and you don't care about the accommodation you might find this enough. But, if you are a couple and (ideally) you have a car: stay in the old town (3KM) - Shuttles all day long. There is a lot of charming boutique hotels for similar prices. Alacati is like the St Tropez of Turkey and it’s really an amazing place with cool bars and restaurants. (no kebabs, no cheap souvenirs, no aggressive ads...)
This hotel is very very badly managed. It must have been better in the past and could be up to a local 4* but at the moment avoid it at all costs. It is unsafe, dirty, understaffed and when looking at how much they have cut on the client experience I would be scared to see the kitchen, laundry room and other staff facilities.
