“view of the travertines”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

The Hal-Tur is a bit of a mixture. It looks straight at the travertines but you can't see the pools because you are looking up, so it's just a white wall but that's quite beautiful when floodlit at night. The service varied from friendly to a bit slack. Dinner by the pool was relaxed and nice but breakfast was pretty ordinary. The room was clean and comfortable but nothing special.

“Superb location, friendly atmosphere”

The Hal-Tur Hotel is ideally situated for those wanting to visit the ancient ruins of Hierapolis and the stunning travertine pools that cascade down the snow-like white hillside. All staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was certainly adequate, and the room was very spacious and clean.

Room Tip: For a few more dollars, consider renting the topmost room, which is very spacious, and opens to a pa...

“Great location, tidy & nice room, hospitable owners & reasonably priced”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

It only takes about 3-4 minutes to walk to the entrance of the travertines. You get the view from the balcony of your room, but it's not a great view because you have to look down from up the top of the hill to appreciate the blue water and the travertine layers, from your room it's just a hill in white. We stayed in the quadruple room. It was cozy and clean & tidy. The jacuzzi actually goes with the badtub so don't expect a spacious bathroom (because that was what we thought). We had a big balcony for ourselves and if you travel during summer it will be nice to sit outside and enjoy the view. The staff are very nice. The owner actually helped us sort out our problems with itinerary in Izmir/Selcuk/Ephesus. The food was okay, we weren't so thrilled about it to be honest.

“The Travertines view adds to the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

The Hal-Tur is comfortable, clean, has reasonably spacious rooms and bathrooms (great towels) and a position which could not be better - right across the road from the Travertines and the ancient city of Hieropolis.
The free wi-fi is handy but best used outside near reception.
The breakfast is sufficient but the fruit juice is fake, as it is in many other hotels in Turkey and Greece.
The pool is clean.
It could be the best accommodation in Pamukkale, judging only by the exterior of the hotels there.
I think the price is slightly inflated because of the direct views across the street to the Travertines, but I thought it was worth the extra for this.
The hotel has a sauna but IT'S NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE!

Room Tip: I'm not sure all rooms are facing the Travertines, but be sure to ask for one that does. Don...
