“Outstanding Cave Hotel”

My husband and I visited Cappadocia in November, 2011, and chose the Yunak Evleri Hotel. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were treated to the most amazing service and experience. Within a half hour we were able to arrange for a car rental, a balloon ride and were given excellent restaurant suggestions. Our room was outstanding as was the breakfast buffet. The property is so picturesque that it is tempting to spend a big part of the day just taking photographs. We were able to view other hotels while driving through the area and agreed that we had made the best choice. It was the true cave hotel experience that we had hoped for in Cappadocia.

“Lovely Overall Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

We stayed at the Unak Evleri Hotel, room 107, from January 3-4, 2012. We were greeted warmly by the staff with an offer of tea or Turkish coffee, given a tour of the facilities and then we were shown our room, with a private balcony, Our room was good sized, clean and offered magnificent views from the balcony and windows. The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. The staff was warm and accommodating. The only problem we experienced - which was very irritating, was our shower - first, the shower head could use replacement as it was difficult adjusting it. However, the biggest issue was that on our last morning, there was only lukewarm water. We needed to leave very early and called the front desk with an urgent request for remediation. A repair person very graciously checked the bathroom and cheerfully pronounced the problem fixed - but it was not fixed. Apparently, the hotel had turned off the hot water in three unused rooms - as it was very off season - but unknowingly also shut off the hot water to our room - needless to say, having to take a shower in lukewarm water in the dead of winter in Cappadoccia was not a good experience. I reported this to the reception desk upon our departure hoping that this will not situation will not arise for any future guests. Overall, I would recommend this lovely hotel.

Room Tip: Suggest that you ask for a high floor with a balcony

“If you ever want to stay in a real cave, this one's for you”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

Our family of four stayed in this hotel in August 2011 for a couple of nights over my 50th birthday. It was a MAGICAL experience! Huge, beautiful and charming rooms - minor complaint is that our kids heard and smelled the bats in their room the first night. When we spoke with management, they were very apologetic, responded immediately and cleaned everything thoroughly. As mentioned by other reviewers, be sure to go hot air ballooning as it is a once in a lifetime experience - we went with Kapadokya Balloons. Even our teenagers who absolutely hate mornings, loved it! Also check out the wonderful restaurant next door - Ziggy's Cafe. We dined there every night for dinner and loved every moment. Only other comment would be a wish for a swimming pool - it was very hot in August and a dip in the pool would have been nice. Not to worry about the rooms though, as they were a perfect temperature.

A stay at this hotel is not to be missed. If you are going to Cappadocia you MUST stay in a cave hotel and go ballooning. My husband and I, along with another couple, stayed here and it was a definite highlight for all of us on our trip to Turkey. The hotel and area were beautiful and the service at the hotel was excellent. Very nice and unique rooms. The hotel was extremely photogenic for photography enthusiasts. The breakfast was very good. We did not get a chance to eat at the restaurant for supper but we got recommendations for nearby restaurants that were excellent. I don't know if I will ever get a chance to go back but if I do I wouldn't miss staying here or at another cave hotel in Cappadocia.

“Wonderful hotel, very helpful staff”

Stayed at Yunak for 3 nights end of December. As other reviewers have mentioned, this a great hotel and an experience of lifetime. So different from other hotels that i have stayed.
Well equipped rooms, very spacious and clean. But highlight was the service. Mr Hussain at the front desk was most pleasant and welcoming.all our requests were promptly addressed to our satisfaction. Good breakfast spread and wonderful restaurant. The rooms don't have TV and WiFi signals don't reach the cave rooms. But in a way we found this a positive, as you can truly enjoy the peace and ambience without any distractions. one can always use the internet services in the library if needed.
we had to check out very early , 04:00, to catch early morning flight. Hence we would have missed the breakfast. Realizing this, Yunak team arranged for packed breakfast boxes. Though this was very basic, but the gesture was extremely nice and demonstrated their wonderful hospitality.
