We recently spent 2 nights at the Museum Hotel, in a deluxe cave room. The Cappodaci aarea is so unique and the hotel added to our experience. The hotel and the room were very clean and exactly as shown on the hotel web site. The staff were all friendly and eager to try to please, even if there was sometimes a bit of difficulty with their English skills. The food in the restaurant was very good. The cave room that we were in overlooked the spectacular valley, with a view of many of the hot air balloons that go up at sunrise. If you are exploring the area, and your budget permits it, a sunrise hot air balloon ride is a great way to experience this unique area.

We recently enjoyed a wonderful vacation in Turkey, and loved Cappadocia. We were, unfortunately, not so impressed with this hotel.

We were on a private, guided tour, and our tour company put us into this hotel when the one we were to stay at was unavailable. Unfortunately, they put us only in a standard room. While the room was very nice, the bathroom was ridiculously small.

The hotel itself is very nice. The view is outstanding. The restaurant was very good.

We found the hotel staff indifferent and surly. While the hotel receptionist who met us on arrival was very pleasant, she was the only one who was. The maitre d'was particularly unpleasant. By way of example, the desk clerk asked if we intended to stay for dinner, and we told her would love to. Later on, when we arrived for dinner, the maitre d' asked us if we had made a reservation. Though we explained to him that we had told the desk clerk we would be attending, he made quite a display of determining if he could seat us. As it turned out, the restaurant was less than half-full that evening.

On another occasion, we were explaining to the desk clerk that we would be picked up early the next morning, and wished to pay our bill that night. While we were talking to him, another member of the staff came along and interrupted. The desk clerk then chose to deal with the staff member, and left us to wait until they were finished their conversation.

While this hotel is very nice, and Uchisar was a great location, if service is important to you we'd suggest you look elsewhere.

We loved this unique and charming hotel. It is so different and the whole expereince was wonderful. The restaurant is excellent and where in the world can you eat your breakfast with hot air ballons overhead. An interesting collection in the muesum, a turtle garden and a terrace to stroll along with wonderful views of the amazing landscape. What a place!

Hotel is really nice -- great views and location, charming and comfortable rooms, delicious restaurant.

We stayed here for a few nights while touring the area and were always happy to return to the hotel at the end of a day. The views from the hotel are really impressive and the pool area is extremely relaxing and well-appointed. There's not much around the hotel, but I imagine that's the case with all the hotels in the area.

The restaurant at the Museum Hotel is really outstanding. I'm big on food and was very impressed by the quality of the food. Even if you don't stay here, you should definitely visit the restaurant. Everything I had was exceptional.

We booked our lodging at The Museum Hotel on recommendation of a friend who is an ex-pat and well traveled in Turkey. Our Museum Hotel experience met or exceeded all of our expectations. Staff greeted us with a relaxed and friendly manner. Our room, 'the Harem" ,was a spacious cave suite with it's own wine tap, large jacuzzi tub and heated marble floors. Some reviewers mention the beds being hard - we've found that hotel beds are generally firm throughout Turkey. We dined at the on sight restaurant, Lila, and truely enjoyed the food but the view of the valley floor as the sun reflected it's final rays was spectacular. Breakfast on the terrace at the same restaurant offered an extensive array of traditional Turkish and European fare along with views of numerous hot air balloons drifting back to earth after sunrise excursions. The restaurant served some local wines from grapes unfamiliar to us. We especially enjoyed the reds and added a delightful tour of the Turasan Winery in Urgup to learn more about viticulture in this area. The Museum Hotel is an actual museum of treasures discovered in the Cappadocian area and is lovingly supervised by the hotel's owner. We found the Museum Hotel and Uchisar [highest hisar] to be the perfect launching point for a tour of magical Cappadocia.
