This was the second leg of our trip to Turkey and was such a disappointment. We were greeted by Natalia who was lovely and showed us to our room. As we arrived in the afternoon and wanted just to relax for an hour or two before dinner we headed off to the bar for a drink. Unfortunately the lady at the bar could not find a bottle opener so went off to find someone else. The few bottles on the shelf were dusty and it seemed that this area was not used. We stayed at the hotel for dinner that night (a set menu, spaghetti bolognaise) which was nice but very expensive. There was one waiter running up and down between the kitchen and the bar. People were talking about the terrible service. For a 5star hotel I expected more.
The building itself is stunning but there are a lot of things wrong with it. Our room had only 4 hangers in the wardrobe and no drawers at all and nowhere to put suitcases. The room therefore was always untidy and cramped. There was quite large areas outside the rooms but no chairs or tables which seemed mad to me as you don't want to sit in your room as its very dark and it would have been nice to sit with a book after exploring the sites all day. We tended to go down into Goreme, 5 minute walk, and have a drink and watch the world go by instead of staying at the hotel.
I was so looking forward to staying at this hotel but was so let down. I will recommend Cappadoccia to friends but not this hotel.
