We paid $30TL for a three person room with our own bathroom...nice room, no complaints except the door situation. As someone else said in their review, you cannot open the door without the key being in the lock which gets really annoying. We arrived on an overnight bus at 5 in the morning. They let us check in and take a nap before our tour started. Breakfast costs $7TL so we instead ate really excellent croisant-like rolls for 50 kuros a piece from a store in the otogar. My friend had her laundry done for $10TL...it was done in a timely manner, but still wet when given back to her.

The small Blue Moon Motel occupies an old stone house on the main square in Göreme. The rooms are comfortable and attractive with functioning en-suite showers. Traditional Turkish breakfast is served on a terrace with a fine view across the valley and the village. The owner, Cemil, is exceptionally friendly and helpful and speaks excellent English. He arranges local activities (hot air ballooning, day tours of Cappadocia) efficiently and at competitive rates. Two doors away is the craft shop "Argos" which offers slightly out-of-the-ordinary gifts and jewellery.

The Blue Moon Motel in Goreme, Turkey is just like the town it resides in - laid back and comfortable. The rooms were large with plenty of space to spread out in and the beds were very comfortable. I slept great all three nights we stayed there. The bathroom had some personality quirks but it sufficed. My only issue with the room was the key. I always had difficulty unlocking the door. I don't know what I was doing wrong. The breakfast was a work in progress. The first morning it was served in the cave room with plates prepared for us and after that it was served on the terrace buffet style. The morning cakes were baked the evening before by the young men of the staff who worked very hard to make them edible. They were very good. Cemil, the manager had all sorts of information about the area, the tours, Turkey in general. He was a pleasure to spend the mornings chatting away with. The boys were always around offering cups of tea any time of the day or night. I will say the rooms were very clean but the hotel terrace was only just coming out of it's winter slumber. I'd like to return when it's in full swing in the summer time. It was just down the street from the bus station and within walking distance of everything Goreme has to offer. I couldn't think of a better place to end a long day of hiking, touring or just moseying along. It was very inexpensive so don't expect five star, but it was very nice and the people were great.
