One couldn't ask for a better experience in Goreme. The Village Cave House is simple but has all the necessary elements to make it a wonderful haven in this magical city. The Village Cave House is run by friendly and accomodating owners who speak Turkish and English and will go out of their way to make your experience enjoyable & comfortable. The rooms are decorated with local art and the beds are suprisingly comfortable. You have the unique opportunity to sleep in a cave with none of the discomfort! The hotel is set up on a hill in the back of town which means that the wonderful terrace that runs outside of all the rooms is a perfect place to relax and overlook the scenery as well as all of town. At night the terrace is a perfect place for star gazing and in the morning you will also enjoy a wonderful breakfast included in the affordable rate. Breakfast is typical for Turkey (egg, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, bread, jams, honey & cheese w/tea or coffee) but the cheese and honey rose above what I experienced in most other places. What makes this hotel so special, aside from the staff and the view, is the balance it strikes between being conveniently located and also being a quiet respite. It was a delightful experience and if I am lucky enough to return to Turkey I will certainly pay a second visit to the Village Cave House!
