“Fantastic cave hotel with exceptional service”

We chose this place primarily because of the appearance of its 'cave rooms', and we were not disappointed. The caves were tastefully decorated, with all the amenities of a real hotel room. I enjoyed the self service fireplaces. The views from the top area of the hotel are breathtaking, however the hike up the stairs could be difficult for older people. The price was also quite good value compared to similar accommodations in Goreme.

All the staff are very friendly and have a high service ethic. Our room initially had a 'sewer' smell coming from the bathroom, so they 'no questions asked' upgraded us to the best room in the hotel for the remainder of our stay.

The tours they offer are the same price, if not cheaper than that provided by tour agencies in the town. The companies we dealt with were of high quality (butterfly balloons, Silk Road ATV/Scooter higher).

The breakfast is top class, the best we had in Turkey. We noticed that they were packing breakfast packs for those people who were leaving really early in the morning to catch flights. The town is only a 5 min walk away, and they provide a shuttle service in if required.

Overall it was an excellent stay and you will not have any regrets staying here. Also staying in winter is not a problem, the fairy chimneys sparkle with snow.

Room Tip: Request an upper room if you want a view, request a lower room if you don't want to climb so man...

“Why did we not come before!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

If you’re coming to Cappadocia, then Goreme is a great place to stay. We selected Travellers Cave Hotel after reading TA reviews and boy we weren’t disappointed. We wanted to experience a ‘cave hotel’ and we certainly did. We visited in June 11 staying 4 nights in room 7 - wonderful (our little hobbit cave-room!), but from what we saw –all the rooms were stylish and unique.

It’s all been said before - fantastic views over Goreme, a short walk in to town, albeit straight down numerous steps making this hotel not really suitable if you have any disability in walking or managing steps but otherwise a fantastic location including great sunsets over Goreme and brilliant views of early morning hot air balloons. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.
On arrival Hakan explained the trips he could offer- this enables you to get the most out of your trip – most visitors only seems to stay a couple of nights. During our trip Hakan was extremely helpful as were all the staff.
The rose valley sunset walk with Hakan was absolutely brilliant, so was sitting up on the terrace and having a cold beer watching sunset over Goreme.
Great to get up early and just watch all the balloons flying over Goreme
Travellers Cave Hotel is highly recommended and we would definitely stay here again.

“Fantastic place, fantastic people, fantastic experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

What a place! Right from our first dealings with the staff upon booking it was a fantastic experience. They were able to arrange shuttles from the airport, day tours and ballooning tours for us without any hassle. Upon arrival we were welcomed and given a drink while we waiting for our room to be readied. Our room was slightly musty and I was a little disappointed at first, as I had misread my invoice and thought I was paying per night what we actually paid for three! Needless to say when I saw it was for three nights I was over the moon, it was perfect, in fact I'd go so far as to say better than the value we paid. It was fun staying in a cave, it was perfectly warm inside even though it was hot outside. It was an easy walk to town and had a great view over Goreme and at all the other fairy chimneys. The hotel has a delightful mix of people, lots of places to lounge around and just enjoy the relaxing nature of the town. I'd definitely stay here again.

“Very Fantastic Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

It was a very fantastic experience to stay in this cave hotel, clean, and very great view. We stayed there for 2 nights. Although outside was quite cold, even we had snow flurries, inside we were quite warm. The fireplace was quite handy for cold weather, added homy feeling. Early in the morning through our window, we could hear and see various hot air balloons "climbing" up, that made us decided to go for the ride the next morning. The service was good, and good enough breakfast each morning. The free WIFI was a great plus, to get us connected to the world after spending whole day touring the region.

“Best view, great athmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

We, a family with 5 yo child, stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in November. It's so close to top of hill, so it has a great view of small city of Goreme and the valley. Rooms are clean and have everything you need. It was -1C outside, but the room was warm enough. Some rooms have fireplace as well. Staff were kind and helpful.
