This hotel is in a great location, the bedroom was a good size and the bed was comfortable. But.... the room was in need of a lot of relatively minor annoying maintenance work such as blocked shower drain, loose toilet seat, only one hanger in the wardrobe, etc. For example my husband was able to fix a noisy poor fitting window by reinserting a hinge pin that had fallen out. Our room was not serviced so we ran out of toilet paper and had to ask for fresh towels.
The breakfast food selection and quality were excellent although it is best to go to breakfast late rather than early as the best food seems to come out later.
I would like to stay here again because of the wonderful location but I might insist on checking the room before I take it next time.

Lovely hotel right on the harbour. Great location and central to everything. We had two meals there and found the food delicious. The buffet breakfast was one of the best on our holiday in Turkey. The rooms were a good size and beds really comfortable. Would recommend to others.

Unfortunately, our experience of the Maydos Hotel was an unpleasant one. We have written to the tour company who booked us for an overnight stay but they have minimised our objections, so ... here is our warning!

The Maydos Hotel was a disgrace!
• only 2 of 6 lights were working in our room
• the bathroom ceiling was flaking plaster
• the shower door was loose and off its track and so flooded the bathroom
• the detached toilet seat finally fell off
• the hair dryer power source light kept flickering – we chose not to use it though we had intended to
• there was a poor range of food in the restaurant and very poor service (only one person to do both lobby desk and waiter service for the evening meal)
• the air-conditioner was in poor repair: not adjustable
• the beds were hard and the pillows were like concrete blocks
• there was insufficient linen and blankets (no extra pillows and only one blanket for each bed)
Consequently, one either froze with the air-conditioning on or roasted with it off as the ONE thing that the Maydos had going for it was location (on the waterfront) but that made it noisy until the early hours.

Stayed one night as part of Gallipoli visit. Location great but room very small and bathroom shower thick with mould. Had not been cleaned properly for ages. We had a room overlooking waterfront which was lovely to wake up to. Good breakfast. Others on tour stayed in better accommodation and payed the same.
