We visited this hotel with two kids 7 and 5. We arrived at the hotel on a Wednesday evening, by taxi from Sarimsakli Otogar. The trip was 10 TL. The hotel is not in walking distance from the centre, but it has its own taxi base, so going downtown is easy. The hotel was pretty empty, so we were given what they described as one of their best rooms, a larger corner room, with a very impressive sea view. There was only one extra bed, although we specifically requested two. The hotel tried to talk us into having only 1 extra bed, which was totally out of the question with two big kids, so we were allowed to have a 2nd extra bed as agreed.
The room is equipped with a large air condition system that makes lots of noise and wind. However, after running it a couple of hours, the air turns heavy and humid, and I had to wake up at night and open the balcony instead. The hotel did however not recommend this because of mosquito problems.
The room had a tv, but all the channels were blurred and unwatchable.
The beach was decent, with plenty of sunbeds, sun shading roofs over them. However, somehow waves sea grass came floating towards the beach every day, so the swimming enjoyment was limited.
The pool looks nice on the photos, but at sunset the pool was invaded by thousands and thousands of baby frogs, to the extent that we had to watch our feet not to step on any of them. The frogs were also in the parking lot, the garden and even in the public toilets. One of the pools have water slides, but they were for some reason closed.
We bought an all inclusive package and were given access to open buffets in three different restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There were also bars and snack places by the pool but we did not try them. The meals apparently offered a wide selection of foods, but nothing out of the ordinary. We had to stand in queues and wait for serving ourselves. The restaurants are manned, however, by workers very eager to remove your plate while you are still sitting or check if you are wearing your mandatory wristband while filling dispenser water into your cup.
The all-inclusive concept offers drinks service most of the day. But you have to go to the pool bar, grab a plastic cup and fill it from a dispenser of limited selection. You are not allowed to bring any food or drinks to the room. If you want a cola in the room, it will cost you 7 TL from the minibar. ( about 7 times cafe price or 1 times grocery store price )
For entertainment in the hotel, there is a bar room that offers billiard and air hockey, this is however also for a charge and they did not have jetons, so they had to manually reset the game.
We tried wi-fi from the room and it works part of the time, they said it works best from the lobby. I used my 3G connection instead.
We did not experience any cockroaches, dirt, theft or rude staff, so this is not actually worse than the 10-20TL motels we have previously endured, but for the price we paid and the 5 stars on the wall, this hotel was way under expectation. For this price range you can do way better, especially in Turkey.
We reserved a 5 night stay but left after 2 nights out of disappointment.
