“Quintessential pension experience - highly recommended”

We visited in February, low season, and were Sandra's only guests at the time. We were treated royally, with a choice of which room we would like and insightful information provided to our every question. Sandra has obviously worked extremely hard (and continues to) to provide a good quality establishment; clean, reasonably-priced and a really friendly atmosphere (especially from Takos, resident guard-dog but a big softie at heart). Golden Bed was definitely amongst the best pensions we stayed at in Turkey. Sandra's relaxed, easy-going nature made the place so comfortable it prompted us to stay for longer than planned even though at the time, Kusadasi didn't have much going on.

Too many times my guests complain about the taxi drivers not knowing where my hotel is...only the other day, I had arranged to meet some new guests, a family of five travelling for six months and that had just arrived off the Samos ferry into Kusdasi port. I met them at the Tourist İnformation office as planned. Due to the heat, I suggested that I get them a taxi and take them back to my hotel rather than walk them the 10 mins up through the town. What was interesting , there are two main taxi ranksh at the port and neither of them claimed to know where my hotel was.....as the owner of the hotel, you can imagine how I felt....but what was more concerning to me was the amount of business I was loosing because of these taxi drvers. Not to mention the inconvenience and stress this courses my guests arriving in a new country with hotel reservations already arranged . I encourage all my guests to take a taxi and the hotel will gladly deduct the fare on arrival .
PLEASE NOTE: You have the right to be taken to my hotel....DEMAND İT.....if you encounter this problem, please notify me or the police immediately....
Kindest regards,
Sandra Galloway (Proprietor)

“Personal, cute and great location”

You can't find a better location and a more unique roof top bar than at the Anzac Golden bed.

This hidden gem is literally hidden away in a small dead-end street, but such a brilliant find.

2 Minute walk to the centre of Kusadasi, and great service and advice from the owner.

Highly recommended.

“Wonderful Place”

My wife and i had booked a room for two nights, i.e., the 22nd & 23rd of December but landed up early in the morning on the 22nd unmindful that the check in time is normally 12 PM. We ended up waking up Sandra the owner as we had not even informed her that we will arrive early as we had forgotten to do so. Despite this, Sandra was very polite and gave us our room which was very clean and tidy. Our stay of two days was very pleasant and we had no problems whatsoever. Sandra was very helpful and gave us valuable information about the places to visit nearby which was of great help.
The hotel is very well located with restaurants, shops, pharmacies, etc in the vicinity. All in all it was a very good experience and i highly recommend the place to anyone who is looking for a neat and clean accommodation with no frills attached in the heart of Kusadasi town. I guess the USP of the place is the warm and friendly owner.

“Great View, Location and Hostess”

I was made extremely comfortable, and the breakfast and room wewre wonderful. Sandra is a mine of local information and you can learn a lot about Turkish culture from her.

If you don't want a plastic hotel chain type experience, or a TV in your room showing 40 Turkish language chanels and no english - then this might well be the place for you. I believe it is unique in the town.

“Just the place for your holiday escape from the big smoke! Clean, well priced, with stunning views of Kusadasi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2010

What an amazing Turkish experience! One of the cleanest, well priced little Bed and Breakfast boutiques I have ever stayed in! A delicious Turkish breakfast is included with the price of the room. The stunning sea views from the rooms and terrace are the best feature of this hidden gem! After spending most of my previous days on ferries from Greece, relaxing on Sandra's rooftop garden terrace was just what I needed when I arrived. As a solo female traveler, I found Sandra's charm and generosity helped me to feel right at home. I also got to meet some amazing fellow travelers on the terrace when Sandra cooked up a yummy Turkish BBQ. I can only look forward to coming back next year!
