“great hotel but..................”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2007

Got back from Turkey on Friday 23rd Aug staying at the Eke Hotel.
Well wot can I say..... the hotel itself is very nice, staff are really friendly and cant do enough for you, cleaners were in the room every day and left sheets folded in patterns (waves, fans etc) never seen anything so nice before. the food at the hotel was also very nice.
Downside.... quite far up a very steep hill. Pool tiles have sharp edges. Its closing this year and being made into flats which we were'nt told about when booking so the management has no interest in putting entertainment on at night for guests, he did have a barbeque one night but that was only for his friends which personally i thought very rude as we were paying guests.

“relaxed, loved and had a great time”

we booked through thomas cook a last minute deal to Kusadasi.. we had originally booked to go to the Tur hotel but when we arrived at the airport in Izmir were advised that this hotel has been fully booked and we were going to the Eke hotel.. We were worried as we knew nothing about it.. When we were on the coach and going up to the Eke it looks as though it is out the road of everything and way uphill but it really wasnt as bad as we had 1st though!

The hotel was lovley and I would have rated it more of a 3+ than a 2+.. the staff are all very nice and while you are relaxing at the pool will go and get you whatever you fancy from the bar.. the pool is nice and there is a shallow end for the kids.. we never had any children with us but they would ahve enjoyed it if they were there! The only thing though is I wouldnt recommend if you have a lot of younger kids maybe under the age of 5.. we have three under 4 and if we had them with us I wouldnt have liked it as much.. you can get a bus from just outside the hotel which is 50p and it comes every couple mins and takes you into the centre.. oh and the maids service is great and when we were there our room was cleaned everyday with new towels etc..

the only thing i never liked about it was that you werent allowed to take any food or drink in from outside so that you would buy it there.. we spent a fortune the first couple of days buying from the hotel but then we were massivly running out of money and started to buy from the supermarket just down the road and taking it in.. there was a notice that if you were caught then you would have to pay the hotel for what you had brought in! I was buying bottled water and drank that by the pool as they wouldnt have known any difference.. the food in the hotel was nice too and that was resonably priced.

When you are there i would recommend Planet Yucca for your meals.. they werent very nice during the day but in the evening was gorgeous...!

We will def be returning again with the kids :)

“fantastic holiday”

My friend and I have just got back today from our stay at the Eke.
I can't praise this hotel enough, everything about it was lovely. It is set at the top of a hill outside the main town, so it was really relaxing and peaceful by day and if the hill is too much for you the dolmus goes past every 5 mins or so and taxis are cheap and plentyful. The rooms are basic but exceptionally clean, maid service was supposed to be only twice a week but the cleaners came in everyday, fresh bed linen and towels nearly everyday. Each day when we came home we wondered how our sheets would be folded, swans, hearts, or waves The food was fabulous (I have had worse meals in so called posh hotels) and good size portions. The staff could not do enough for you especially Arnie who would spend all day trying not to be thrown in the pool. The pool bar and pool area was spotless and a really nice place to be if you just wanted a relaxing day. Now for the bad news, I wish we had found this hotel years ago as in Septemder 2007 the owner is turning it into apartments for sale or rent. So if you want a reasonably priced, but exceptional hotel in Turkey be quick and book the Eke.

  • Liked — Friendliness, Cleanliness. Pool and bar area
  • Disliked — The walk up the hill (only try it if you are very fit)

Stayed there for a week.
Would not reccomend this hotel, its clean and tidy but its Miles
from anywhere.
This hotel is No use for folks with walking difficulties as its miles up a Hill.
The worst thing about this Hotel is the folks that own it.
Two brothers that would start a fight in an empty house.

Kusadasi was my first and last time i'll go to Turkey.
All along the prom there is kids begging, you cannot stop for a minute without some pest polishing your shoe's.
Turkey is cheap... but you get what you pay for, the shops are only full of Fake clothes and watches e.t.c.
If you walk through the town center you will be pestered by locals selling TAT in shops and stalls..... take strepsills as you'll get a sore throat telling the locals where to go.

My opinion,,,,,,, save a lttle extra and go to Florida.
