“Nice hotel, shame about the weather (don't go in Oct)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We had a reasonable week at this hotel, the fault of the weather not the hotel (don’t go to Turkey in October). The transfer takes around an hour, depending on how many drop off’s are made. We arrived at around 2am but food (soup, bread and pasta) and drink (the lobby bar) were all available. Check in was quick and effective.

The hotel is situated at the end of Ladies Beach, a line of bar’s, restaurants and shops. A 5min walk (downhill) gets you there easily and it felt pretty safe. You can get as much UK food as you want there. Further afield the Dolbus takes you into Kusadasi for around 90p. The Dolbus runs until at least midnight.

Food : The food is OK, and the chef’s work hard to make something of the fairly limited budget they seem to have. Breakfast is continental (meat/excellent cheese), boiled eggs and omelettes (the man who does these will also do fried eggs on request). For lunch and dinner, soup is the only starter, followed by a changing range of help yourself mains which always included potato’s in various forms, rice, pasta and turkish pizza in small slices. The main dishes were a mixture of vegetables, chicken, veal, kebab, fish, kebab etc. We found this fine, but I overheard some other Brits arguing about where the least worst chips were (I almost went and told them to go to Skegness next time). You can get burgers, spag bol etc in the italian restaurant during the day.

Rooms – Excellent, comfy bed and huge balcony. Bath with shower above. Fridge. Free safe (ask for the key in reception) and bottled water supplied daily. Maid service excellent, fresh sheets and towels every day.

WiFi – is free and available in the lobby Bar, and the restaurant.

Bar’s – beer is Efes Pilsner 5% abv and quite acceptable – served in 250ml glasses so you have to work hard to get drunk. Wine is help yourself from dispensers in the lobby bar and restaurant. The white wine is quite acceptable, a bit like what you get from a cheap wine box of S African wine. None of this was watered down, we watched barrel changing being done. The spirits looked rather like they were locally produced, certainly no one ever seemed to pay for anything.

I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. The staff were very hardworking, friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is in very good condition, clean and well run. We would happily return (but not in October). I’ve posted a number of video’s of the hotel on you tube, search on “g4shf grand blue sky international”.

“Dont go in October”

this was are first visit have stayed in very good hotels before and this is the worst. No entertainment everything was being packed away, no entertainment. Pools were to deep for the children so we went on the beach all day which was very nice. There was a little restaurant down the beach where you could get lunch. On the beach there was a drinks bar never had any milk for tea or coffee and always ran out of soft drinks. The bar staff were rude and could not be bothered to serve the children who had asked for a ice cream and they said they were closed but they were all on there phones. The main dinner food in the hotel was not good (lived on salad) desserts were nice and had a good selection. We went out to eat twice once in Ladies Beach and the other time at Planet Yucca in the town of Kusasasi had a brilliant night. On the positive side the veiws were lovely and down in the town the people were nice. We went on a Jeep Safari with Jean Claude(Emil) had a great time and would recomend that you try one of his trips he is great. Would go back to Turkey again but would not stay at this hotel ever again.

“wheres the bar and the entertainment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

first visit to this hotel and was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews. I am fairly open minded so here goes:
the rooms are great, very roomy, spacious, plenty of storage, free safe, large balcony
downside - first room was in block A right next to reception, very noisy but the long dark haired girl on reception was amazing and got me a new room in block b, away from the noise. Housekeeping came every day and despite a hiccup the first day we had water every two days.

Pools are great and there is plenty of room. Be warned, top pool is deep and they are both very cold. Bottom pool is busy because of the bar but there are plenty of sunbeds. There is also the beach but due to steps it was too much for my mum.

Food - you have the main restaurant, terrace with pancakes, burger bar just under umbrella bar, top pool. The seafood and Italian restaurant are one and the same, menus alternate and are open dependant on the weather. There is also the Turkish restaurant but this was never open. The pancake terrace closed the day after we arrived and the selection of food was ok if you liked veal, chicken or mince with chips, even for breakfast. the desserts were delish and the omelettes for breakfast were amazing.

Now the bars - umbrella bar, always being photographed and closed after the 3rd day, due to poor weather. the pool bar closed the next day so you could only get drinks from the lobby bar after 5pm, with your evening meals. There were drinks available at the burger bar: sprite, fanta, coke, tea, coffee, juice or beer. As we had been promised all inclusive drinks for nearly 24 hours this didn't go down well, especially with guests who wanted alcoholic drinks other than Efes beer.

Entertainment - we were advised there was an amphitheatre available which was were the majority of the shows etc would be. This was never opened and the poor entertainment team had to come up with other solutions - bingo, music quiz, dance contest. Very poor and if you were not able to leave the complex this meant for a very boring day, loads of people playing cards etc

The staff - most are very helpful and always have a smile. Some don't like being disturbed, especially when on their phones, watching the match or serving the gorgeous young girls. They adored the children and nothing was too much trouble.

We would certainly like to go back but feel earlier in the season would be better, don't go in October as there is no point. Such a shame as the hotel and the views were exceptional, pity.

Room Tip: anything above the second floor offers a great view. rooms on block a near reception will be noisy...

“Our favorite hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

We returned for our fifth visit to this hotel and were happy to see that it is back up at the top again with its service, staff, food and guests. The location can hardly be beaten and the view from the rooms (especially from the top floor) is fabulous. On our first visit to Blue Sky years ago, there were no signs telling us where everything was and they were still planting their wonderful garden and grounds! We love to see how it all has grown. For anyone who wants access to Internet, the hotel needs a serious upgrade. In this day and age its a must. But, we loved our stay and we will be back.....thats for sure.

Room Tip: All rooms have sea views are spacious with king size beds and all this at no extra cost.
