i came to dimond beach for a holiday with my family at the begining of august...i enjoyed it here more than the rest of my family because i got on with the staff and made friends with everyone...we had a few problems with our rooms one being the aircon...and the doors....i would advise thses hotel because the staff are lovely and are willing to help out and the managers make themselves avalable for if you need to talk to them and the ask you for your own opinion of the hotel....there aren't many shops around but there are a few bars and tourist shops....

i really enjoyed my holiday and i would love to go back there one year....

“There are plenty of hotels in Side - choose another.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2009

The hotel is a charter hotel for germans polacks russians and checks and is situated in a cluster of all inclusive hotels 10 km from Side. No restaurants nearby just a few bars and tourist shops.
Plus: Good food, nice beach and nice pool.
Minus: Aircon NOT on between 8 AM and 5 PM and between 7 PM and 10 PM and you can not change any settings of the aircon.
Not enough sun chairs both by the pool and on the beach
The staff speaks ONLY german
The restaurant not nice. Constant queing and very big and noisy.
The all inclusive drinks are mostly water. That goes both for the beer and the drinks containing spirits. The gin is definitly not more than 20% alcohol and the same goes for the vodka and rum.

“worst hotel in 30 years of travel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2008

Just returned from two weeks at this hotel and could not wait to get home. For years I have read travel advisor before going to hotels all over europe america and carribbean and have always thought what do people want as I have always been well satisfied with all holidays we have had over the last 10 years all booked on the net but I should have took note just this once of some of the reviews.

First the Good:-
The reception was clean and bright and the room was fine.
Thats it!
STAFF- Extremely rude speaking only German very little English unless that is you were wound up that much by there rudeness/ignorance you lost you temper with them and then they understood.
I get got fed upto the back teeth of being ignored at the bar by the barstaff totally ignoring you in favour of the German guests, sometimes to the embarassment of the German guests.
During the course of the holiday I was quite ill (more of that later) and even the Hotel nurse could not speak English.
ANIMATION - None existent they were seen at 9.30am inthe morning around the pool doing a German dance and at arounf 2.30pm doing the same thing.

Our 2 children were were bored to the point of not bothering to get up till 10am and were in bed for 9.30 with us not far behind them.
POOL - was freezing cold no wonder it was always empty. Our kids braved the cold a few times and have some fun (not taken to kindly by German guets as fun is not in there vocabulary) in the pool but it is no fun when so cold and on your own. the indoor pool was closed so that was not an option
RESTAURANT - This is where the hotel really does excel!!!! Breakfast eggs pastries salad (same everyday) Lunch, soup, rice spagetthi with a meatless sauce, fish, chicken in some guise either curried, stew type stuff with a few vegetables maybe a fish - salad from breakfast. Cakes and several moose like sweets

Dinner, Soup, Rice spaghetti with meatless sauce fish and yes chicken, and sometimes undercooked liver with blood flowing freely, oh yes salad from lunchtime. Cakes and several moose like sweets from lunchtime.

There was also coffee machine which more often than not was broken, and if you wanted water from the dispenser outside by the pool the nozzle was full of algae and although we remove some and showed it to the hotel manager it remain there for the rest of the holiday.
The eating area was full of flies and stray cats, very hygenic!
After 4 days at his hotel myself and my daughter went down with severe diarihorrea this was a Friday finding it very difficult to leave our room due to the severity several times we were caught short and not getting to the toilet on time and on the Sunday there was no toilet paper in our rooms none in any of the toilets by the pool bar (12 toilets in total) when a maid was found they had none and we wold have to wait till monday. At this point my wife asked the reception girls for some toilet rolls to which the shrug of the shoulders which roughly means they do not wish understand you (very annoying) but when she really lost her temper and walked out to buy some in disgust within 5 minutes there was a maid at the door with toilet roll.
So Monday comes around and the doctor arrives in the hoetl and yes off I go to hospital in the ambulance with a German woman suffering the same fate. 3 days I stayed in hospital which was considerably better than the hotel, the staff spoke English, and yes they smiled as well.
BUILDING SITE - The building site overlooking the pool where worked on drilling hammering etc commenced at 7.00am every morning and finished at 6.30pm.

THE AREA - Very little a few shops, 2 or 3 bars a couple of restaurants one good one which was Memos fish restaurant which served beautiful fish but not really child oreientated.

SUMMARY - I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy, a disgrace.
