arrived back from the kervan 30/09/11 we had requested a quiet room and were given a room next to the bar with loud music after refusing to unpack another room was found this was much better ,clean with a nice corner balcony ,the shower sprayed everywhere but this was soon repaired ,sunbeds always available ,a courtesy bus to the beach if prefered ,no entertainment atall and the drinks were expensive staff friendly but limited english, the main downfall was the food it is the worst we have ever had the choice was terrible except for salad and soup ,chicken 8 out of 10 nights cold potatoes ,rice,brocolli and one other differing tray ,desert looked okay atfirst 4-5 syrup cakes unfortunately they were the same every night ,breakfast was no better we dreaded going down to eat and ate out several times for this reason we would not go back to this hotel

We booked a weeks package for late September with Lowcostholidays.com at the Kervan hotel in Side. Good flight times and airport transfers went well.The hotel is very well situated for the beach (10 mins walk) ancient ampitheatre (15 mins) and old town and harbour (20 mins)
We had a twin room with balcony,air-con, fridge,hairdryer and TV but no kettle,very clean and with a daily maid service. Food was good (especially the salads) but the local dishes needed labelling so you knew what you were eating,and the waiters could have beenmore helpful (language problems perhaps) The pool area was great with plenty of sunbeds and there was a computer in the reception area and we had a great week and will go back again..

Have just returned from two weeks at the Kervan and whilst it does have many good points it was incredible that they removed coffee and juice from the hard board guests dinner during the second week even though they were available for the first! To be told 'you shouldn't have got them anyway' is not a good way to build customer relations. Despite that the room was ok, a bit dated but very clean. The shower room does need updating and we found the hot water was a bit variable - possibly as we were on the top floor. Food was ok and pool very good. Staff were ok but spoke german better than english. Close to beach and town so great location. All in all good value for a low cost holiday.

Arrived with my husband for 7 night break half board. Had a nice corner room on 3rd floor view of pool and sea.Nice king sized bed. Room very bright as light curtains but overall good. Shower room needs a bit of updating but nevertheless always plenty of hot water and accomodation spotlessley clean also air conditioning worked well with remote control. Fridge also in room previous comments had worried me re bringing your own food in but we ordered a few bottles of water from the bar and then bought in other things which caused no problem at all.
Reception staff friendly though English not too good.
Well positioned hotel 10 mins walk to beach and 20 mins to old Side. Walk the main road way and its amazing the ruins of the shops and the amphitheatre,
We found the Side beach very narrow and crowded packed with sunbeds. But if you go round the peninsular to the left of the amphitheatre you come to No Name Beach with a cafe and sunbeds which are free if you buy a drink there. A light breeze on that part of the coast makes things easier.
We thought drinks expensive everywhere especially in the hotel £21 for a bottle of local wine was too much and that is the main donwfall of Kervan Hotel. All drinks expensive.
Food ok but a little unimaginative, Pureed potatoes could be done better and cold sprouts not too good. Just needs a little re arranging. Olives at breakfast but none in the evening i didnt like.
I liked the area and the hotel overall very good. pool nice area around clean and usually no problem geting a sunbed.
Had a turkish bath in the hotel with Mehmet very good about £17.
Would go again but just B and B as lots of good places to eat out.
