I have just returned from a 14nt half board package holiday at the Kervan........on the whole I was very pleased with the hotel & holiday in general & would definately recommend it.
One problem was with the transfers with Holiday Taxis....their service was dreadful. On arrival in Antalya (lunchtime), we were kept waiting for almost 2 hours in blazing sun & placed on several different mini-buses before they decided which one was going to Side. We were harassed by the driver who tried to bully us into giving him a tip (which we didnt do!!!) On being collected from our Hotel for the return journey to the airport the minibus reeked of vomit and I sat in a seat & as I tried to put the seatbelt on found it still covered in sick!!!! Luckily as we were the first to be picked (nearly said puked) up we were able to move to another seat. When we got to the airport the driver refused to remove any of the cases himself, so we were left to struggle to get them out.
The Kervan Hotel was spotlessly clean, staff were helpful & friendly and although the food is extremely repetetive (chicken, chicken, chicken), overall I was very impressed. Yes the towels were old & like sandpaper but as we had very hot water every day that more than made up for it. Just a couple of negative points.....although we were half board they covered up the coffee, tea & juice machines during the evening meal?? that meant you were forced to buy your drinks (a bottle of water £1)! - & the other downside was the evening meal was supposed to be served until 9pm but after about 8.15 there was rarely anything left (main meal) & by 8.30 the kitchen staff started to remove the food.
The hotel is well situated for the town, beaches & the bus station is 5 mins walk away. Dolmus to Manavgat Market was only 2TL one-way & well worth a visit. I would definately recommend the hotel & would love to go back.
