“room quality varies!”

Catty garden is a basic hotel. It has 3 buildings which all have different quality rooms. We were staying at the oldest building and had an old room but it was further from the loud music so we did not complain.
Mosque is near. You will wake up every night.
The hotel had a nice pool and waiters who kept wanting to sell you drinks from the bar. That was the biggest problem - the personnel. Especially one waiter kept track of our goings and comings and told us on the next day what he saw us do. He also harrasted one other girl by getting her phone number from the travel agency's paper and asking her out several times.
Besides that and the long walk to Antik Side, Catty Garden was nice. Our room's roof leaked but hey - you're on holiday and things can't be the same as they are at home :)

“another great holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

Travelled to the cats garden for the 4th time at the end of september. As usual the staff were great. Had a different room this time overlooking the pool. Once again the room was clean and the maid was very friendly. The hotel is in a great location, close to the beach and about a 20 minute walk into town.
Plenty of restaurants and shops close to the hotel. The doruk patissiere and the fish restaurant are probably the best near to the hotel.
A special mention goes to Suleiman and his son for making our holiday a special one. Whilst we were waiting for the coach to take us to the airport at 12:15 in the morning he and his son cut up a whole melon and gave it to us. He couldnt do enough for us. Any small problem is dealt with in a professional manner.
Thanks again to the cats garden for a great holiday.
Once again thanks cats garden foe a wonderful holiday.

“an ace in side”

what a nice hotel
we have just come back after 2 weeks, there was only me my wife and daughter left in the hotel
and we loved it.
its spotlessly clean the rooms are cleaned every day with clean towels the staff and maids are fantastic, you can do as you please no one bothers you and we met some great friends there the first week when there was a few people in the hotel,,its ideal for a relaxing chill out holiday
side its self is really nice its the 1st time we have ever walked on so much history the mosaics on the ground the marble walkways the history they have there is second to none you will love it as we did walking through it lit up on a night,,
the prices in side are a bit high we had 5 beers draft mind you and it was 50 lira not cheap so ask about prices before being charged silly prices all the prices are in euros so when you see 3 or 4 double check as when you go to leave it wasnt lira it was a euro this i just couldnt understand as turkey arnt in the common market,,anyway just watch your money
side is well place we went to manovgat on mondays and thursday its a massive market and bazzar its cheaper and i mean a lot cheaper that sidesome really good bargains to be had
and its only 2 lira each to get there about a 6km ride and its a nice ride..
then theres kumkoy the other way a waste of a day out in my opinion they didnt even want a £10 note they just wouldnt take engish money its unheard of in turkey so dont even go to kumkoy its all germans..and really really expensive..
well thats me done,,go to side and do go in the cats catty garden its a fantastic hotel
if you need to contact me please do so via email i will try and help you all i can
and remember in october you could get rain we did 6 days of it and it was heavy thunder storms that dont stop for 2 days at a time..and take euros they will snatch your hands off
i will be going back to my old haunts in turkey where the bargains are and they take the good old english pounds...i will add some photos for you later

Room Tip: we got put around the back the room was brand new no one had been in it there wasnt any thing wrong...

“Cats Garden September 2011”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

Single male traveler stayed 5 days in September 2012 paying £35.88 total cost.

So , what attracted me to this property was THE PRICE and the fact that it was SELF-CATERING. Location was not that important to me (since everywhere is just a 10 minute dolmus ride in Side - it is not that large a town) and I cared not for hotel ammenities like restaurant , pool , bar etc.... since I never use these facilities , preferring to go to the beach and cook my own meal (self catering) or visit local restaurants.

I was allocated a studio room, below ground level in a newer building.

So , the price aspect was unbeatable BUT the "self-catering" was almost non existent. I do not believe this property should market itself as self-catering. There is a total LACK of cooking utilities. There is ONLY a two ring , electric counter top , a small fridge , ONE frying pan, ONE large pan, three knives , three forks, three teaspoons and three desert spoons. There is one cooking knife and one wooden spoon. Three bowl , three plates and three cups and saucers. There is no toaster , no kettle (boil your water in the large pan) and no microwave. I WAS able to cook an omlette in the frying pan and make sandwiches and keep them cool in the fridge , but that was it. Perhaps someone has the recipe for a stew or something that you can cook in one pot ? So , any family going there thinking they will save money by cooking their own meals - think again ! You will find yourself eating out every night , like I had to.

The apartment itself is VERY depressing. Total lack of design or colour. Just plain white walls and VERY harsh lighting. It reminded me of a prison cell but then , with more thinking , I have actually seen prison cells that are more "homely" and colorful on the television documentaries.

The good points were the PRICE and that it was clean. The towels were even changed daily as well as the bed made and the room swept. I only got visited by the ants on one day and the management responded quickly with the ant killer !
The staff are GREAT , always friendly and professional.
WI-FI is free IF you take your own laptop or Android Phone BUT it only works in the reception.
The shower is AMAZING , it was like a power shower , superb pressure!

I cannot comment on the bar , restaurant , shop or pool - I did not use them.

In summary , the location is good , the price I paid was unbelievably cheap in this "low season" and so I definitely got value for money and would recommend it under these conditions.
In high season , with MUCH higher accommodation charges and describing itself as "self-catering" which is arguably achievable , then I probably say it is not.

“Fed up with nag about going out with staff/eating at restaurant.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

I have actually been here twice this summer. The first time I was lucky enough to get a room in the new building. Very fresh, nice, a great room! Except for the mosque right outside the window. Woke me at 05.00 every morning!!!! Earplugs was no help to that.

Next time I came I got a room in the old building, near the pool, on terracelevel. It was a true disaster. I had before arriving, many weeks ahead sent an email asking to get a room in in the new area, twice actually but never got an answer. I spoke to Ving personel online, they wrote, but still I got the mouldy room. And it smelled very strong of mould. The thermostat in the shower constantly went crazy making you burn or freeze every other minute. Beyond that it was not very fresh in the bathroom. The showercurtain hung half way on the floor because of broken hangingup devise. The refrigerator was NOISY, and made it very hard to sleep.

But I did like the garden and the poolarea.

The big nono in this hotel turned out to be the personel. First time I was there, almost nagged to death by one of the guys pleading his love for me. (At my next stay he hardly said hello) The constant nagging to eat in restaurant and join in the bbq-nights, Turkish-night etc was very irritating. Feeling of being chased for the sake of my wallet, not to give me a nice stay. And speaking of the restaurant, it is not very good. The few things I had there was not well made, and the BBQ-night was awful. One piece of chicken and turkish meatballs. Not even MEAT. And the "great dessert" was 2 small slices of watermelon.

Anyway I thought I could handle the personel, so I went here a second time, but my recentment only grew.

The man who sells Hammam and massage is very good at his work. He would probably be able to sell ice to escimoes. BEWARE! There are better cheaper places for massage and Hammam.

This hotel is all about talk, all about selling, all about making money from the guests. And of course seducing girls.

To say something nice I must say two, especially one of the managers was very helpful and friendly.
