“Gone and see for yourself”

Back to the Hemera for the third time, first time 9 years ago, then two years ago, and just returned after a fortnight along with four other friends, two of which we met there two years ago. The Hemera suits all ages, there is something going on during the day with the animation team, they are excellent, friendly, helpful, and most of all funny they talk to each and everyone, their shows are excellent. The food, staff and cleanliness of this hotel is superb, and nothing two much trouble. The waiter service in the dinningroom is very professional, and they make an effort to understand our english. So many people return to this hotel, year after year, and sometimes more than once within the same year. Try it, believe me you Will enjoy it, and value for money too.

“Met some nice people”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

We have been trying to get into the Hemera Hotel for 2 years and it has always been booked for Sept with so many people returning again and again, so we booked at the beginning of the year but could only get in in October.
Unfortunately we had 4 days of very heavy rain and thunderstorms in the 1st week and 1 day the second week, other than that the weather was hot and sunny. However do take some thicker clothes and a coat or fleece as the weather at night was very cold especially if you are sitting outside watching the entertainment
A very nice hotel in a good situation 45 minutes easy stroll along the promenade into Side Town with the usual tourist shops and some good ruins.
The rooms are very clean with everything you need but the shower, and TV programmes were a bit lacking and in the height of summer the air conditioning may not keep the room as cool as you want. Hotel mainly elderly Germans but everyone is very friendly. Good selection of food and very well presented with the option of late breakfast and midnight buffet. The beach Bar and Pool Bar both serve good lunchtime meals if you don’t want to go back to the restaurant. The patisserie with a nice coffee in the afternoon or a selection of ice creams is truly wonderful and we enjoyed all the local brands of drinks and cocktails. All three al carte Restaurants are good but the seafood one was freezing. Immaculate grounds, good pools and beach area and we had no problems getting loungers at any time on the beach.
The entertainment Team are very very enthusiastic from 10 am until 11 at night and could not do enough for you. We met some great people Bob and Pauline, Carol & Mick. a lovely couple from Colchester and all the people who took part in the boccia every day.
It did not have the opulence or service that we got at the Renaissance Hotel in Sharm, El Sheikh but we will return sometime.

Room Tip: If you dont like your room the hotel will change it the following day if they have the availability

“Great for a last minute week away”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

We booked just 7 days before travelling and the hotel didn't disappoint. While not 5 star (are they ever?) its a very nice hotel, with great food, choice of drinks, pools, gardens and ambiance. The private beach is also the nicest of all the hotels with good space between sun beds. I loved not being bothered by the animation team down there!

Two small criticisms - bedroom walls are very thin, we could hear everything going on next door and people walking above us. Asked to be moved to the top floor which the helpful staff accommodated as soon as a room became available. Secondly, rooms and bathrooms are quite small. I'd also say the surrounding area of Side is not great, but then we didn't want to stray too far from the hotel and the beach so it didn't bother us.

However, service was excellent - it was my partners birthday while we were there and when the maid saw me blowing up balloons she arranged for a birthday card from the manager, decorated the bed and brought a plate of baklava!

Ideal for a late week away, weather was great too!

Room Tip: Top floor for quiet rooms

“A Wonderful Family Holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

We visited this hotel in Side with all our family and grandchildren to celebrate our birthdays later in the year.

The pools were warm and child friendly (we had 3 grandchildren with us) and by the end of the 10 days all three boys were in the pool for 4 hours plus a day.

We were looked after in the restuarants and had helpful waiters who were great with the children (and the oldies too)

The food was excellent with lots of choice each meal - something that is not always available in some hotels in Turkey. We all enjoyed the ice-cream and cakes on tap, being able to get morning coffee and beiing to take it to our rooms plus most of all lots for the kids to do each day

From our experience would recommend this hotel over any other in Side with great service and friendly staff.

great staff
